nowe hasło z Aurela - Nasze samoloty są z gumy ale podwozia się
łamią!!!
z Aviation Herald:
24 Nov 2008
A Boeing 757-200 chartered by Air Niamey (Niger), performing a Hajj
flight from Garoua (Cameroon) to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) with 307
passengers, was taxiing towards the runway, when the left main gear
collapsed reportedly causing the airplane to drop onto its left
engine. The pilgrims on board panicked and were evacuated. No
injuries have been reported.
Air Niamey told the passengers, that the problem was just ruptured
tyres on 6 of the 8 main wheels (4 wheels on either side) and to be
fixed within minutes. That statement however got contested by
Cameroon aviation experts, stating the problem goes far beyond the
ruptured tyres.
Cameroon's Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) have suspended Air Niamey
from all flying operations at Garoua on Nov 26th and have sent
experts to examine both planes chartered by Air Niamey. The ban was
lifted on Nov 27th following examination, however under strict
control by the CCAA.
6 new entire wheels as well as engine parts are now expected to be
flown in for repairs.
Local Cameroon Media reported, that Cameroon's Civil Aviation
Authority had granted special permission to transport 307 passengers
on that plane far beyond its normal seat/passenger capacity, but
well within its structural weight limits.
Air Niamey, an airline based in Niger, won contracts by the Cameroon
and Nigeria Hajj commissions to perform pilgrimage flights from
Cameroon and Nigeria to Mecca (Jeddah). The airline leased two
Boeing 757-200s for that purpose: LY-SKJ owned by Aurela (Lithuana)
was transferred Nov 14th and OH-AFJ owned by Air Finland (Finland)
was tranferred Nov 21st.
Air Finland told The Aviation Herald, that neither Air Finland nor
their aircraft was involved in the incident in any way.
Aurela Airlines denied vehemently on Dec 2nd 2008, that any Aurela
Airlines operated aircraft were involved in the accident.
