Jak działają media w USA

17.12.03, 19:54
Kiedy ogląda sie w USA Wiadomosci TV na kilku kanałach równoczesnie, zawsze
uderza fakt, że wszystkie prezentują te same wiadomosci i ten sam ich zestaw
(wyjątki są minimalne).
Wygląda to, jakby media były sterowane z jednego osrodka.
I tak bez wątpienia jest.

Na stronie
www.tbrnews.org/Archives/a750.htm
pewien "mid-level executive with a major American television network" przesyła
anonimowo dokumenty, które dostają jego szefowie.
Dokumenty te dają wskazówki, co i kiedy można powiedzieć, a czego w żadnym
wypaku nie.

Np.

(Feb 10)….It is not permitted at this point to use or refer to any film clips,
stills or articles emanating from any French source whatsoever.

(March 19) No mention, repeat, no mention, of Palestinian suicide bombers
during the Iraqi operation….

(March 25) …no mention of either Wolfowitz or Pearle should be made at the
present time.

(March 10)….pro-Government rallies are to be given the fullest coverage…if
anti-Government demonstrations are shown, it is desired to stress either a
very small number of “eccentrics” or shots of social misfits; i.e., with
beards, tattoos, physical deformities, etc. Pro-Government supporters should
be seen as clean cut with as many well-groomed subjects as possible….subjects
should stress complete support for the President’s programs and especially
support for American military units en route to combat…also interviews with
photogenic family members of participating GIs stressing loyalty and
affection…American flags are always a good prop in the background…

(November 28) We are going to stress the AIDS situation in weeks to come.

      Ale kretyni

Niech se rządzą i nakazują - zobaczymy jak długo tak pociągną. Władza w rękach
chciwych głupców nie może i nie będzie trwać długo.
      Co najwyżej kilka pokoleń smile

"There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print.

"I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.

"The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press?

"We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men.

      "We are intellectual prostitutes."

To wszystko co piszesz jest prawda, choc ostatnie pare lat przynioslo pewne
zmiany - chocby ogolny dostep do wiadomosci z internetu.
Pozatym od czasu powstania FOX-NEWS liberalom (lewicy) jest coraz trudniej
robic spin i monopol zostal przelamany.
Ale zgadzam sie, ze nawet FOX czasem lewicuje.

Despite the misattribution, the quote raises the issue of whether there is not continuing truth in Swinton's remarks, and whether some candid journalist might not be able to fairly say similar things today. Anyone who has associated closely with journalists can hardly avoid finding a ring of truth in such words, and the best evidence lies in the actual product of journalists and how well, or how poorly, it both agrees with and covers what actually happens, especially involving such things as corruption and abuse of power.
