"Coty Beauty is relying heavily on the enduring appeal of celebrity
fragrances to generate sales in the run-up to Christmas. The mass market
division of Coty Inc has pulled the covers off its autumn launch programme to
reveal the latest developments in four of its biggest celebrity and fashion
brands.

First out of the blocks are singers Celine Dion and Kylie Minogue, who both
launch new fragrances in August. Just eight months after the launch of
Kylie’s first fragrance, Darling, Coty is introducing a permanent addition to
the Australian’s portfolio with Sweet Darling. The oriental gourmand scent is
said to be a sensual interpretation of the original with a cotton candy
accord, juicy passion fruit, freesia and boronia. Packaged in a shimmering
version of the original bottle, the fragrance is priced £26 for 50ml and is
complemented by Sparkling Body Lotion priced £12.50.

French-Canadian chanteuse Dion, Coty Beauty’s biggest fragrance brand, is
following up the March launch of Spring in Paris with Paris Nights. The
limited edition, created by Karine Dubreuil of Mane, opens with notes of
wisteria, passion fruit and black violet and has a heart of wild jasmine,
broom, osmanthus and rose, and a base of vanilla, amber, cashmere, sandalwood
and patchouli. The fragrance is priced £15.95 for 50ml.

As footballer David Beckham and his former Spice Girl wife Victoria’s star
rises in the US , Coty is preparing to launch its next fragrance duet under
the dVb brand. Intimately Beckham Night for men and women is billed as the
sexiest offer yet from the celebrity couple and will be accompanied by an
even raunchier advertising campaign, according to Coty Beauty UK marketing
director David Allan. “It’s the first time we’re putting the Beckhams on TV,”
he said. “We caused a stir with the advertising for Intimately Beckham and
have purposefully made the next fragrance campaign more sexy and more
provocative”.

Intimately Beckham Night for men combines spicy and citrus notes with a
masculine floral heart and a warm base of amber, patchouli, vetiver and tonka
bean. The women’s scent meanwhile features top notes of tangerine, bergamot
and cinnamon, a white floral heart of lily, tuberose and orange blossom and a
base of sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla, tonka bean and myrrh. The duo
launches in September and comes complete with a full range of ancillary
products, and is priced £26 for 50ml edt.

Coty completes its autumn line-up by following the current rock and roll
trend with the latest offer from young female fashion brand, Miss Sixty. Rock
Muse launches in October as a permanent addition to the portfolio. The
fragrance opens with notes of sparkling grapefruit, fresh bergamot and
redcurrant, which mix with a heart of jasmine and yerba mate and a base of
patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, musk and basmati rice. Available in four
sizes, the fragrance is also complemented by a range of ancillary bath and
body products."
