"French naturals specialist L’Occitane has created its first
collection of eaux de parfums.
The Provencal company says its Notre Flore quartet is inspired by
its heartland, with the key ingredients sourced from the
Mediterranean basin.
Myrtle, for example, contains organic angel water (myrtle water)
from Corsica . The fresh floral opens with mandarin tree leaf and
cranberry notes, resting on a heart of myrtle and sea spray and
drying down to a base of cistus labdanum and patchouli leaf.
Soft and oriental Neroli has top notes of lychee and plum, a heart
of Tunisian neroli and orange blossom and a base of sandalwood and
benzoin.
Iris, meanwhile, features iris essential oil from Tuscany along with
galbanum and violet at the heart. Head notes include bergamot and
pink pepper, while the base is formed from papyrus and tonka bean.
Rounding out the collection, Cedar is a masculine green woody
fragrance with a head of grapefruit and wood sap, heart notes of
cumin and tobacco leaf, and cedar and tonka bean at the base.
Emphasising its Provencal roots, L’Occitane says it chose to work
with perfumers based in Grasse, including Robertet.
The heavy glass bottles have been designed to emphasise the
difference between these new edps and L’Occitane’s fresh edts. Each
bottle has an N, S, E and W on each facet to symbolise the points of
the compass, while the cap is etched with a wind rose.
The edps will go on counter worldwide in October, priced €62. A
L’Occitane spokesman said the company was considering further
additions to the range."
