"French fragrance company Cofinluxe is diversifying the offer of its
Parfums Salvador Dali brand, inviting a young artist to contribute
to the design of a new fragrance every year. The strategy is in line
with company ceo Jean-Pierre Grivory’s work as a patron of the arts.
The fragrances will not be conceived as limited editions, but are
expected to remain in the brand’s permanent catalog, depending on
their success.
This year’s fragrance, the first, is named Little Kiss. French
artist Mikael Carriau designed the decoration for the flacon and
outer packaging, based on the theme of Dali’s famous lips. “The Dali
lips and his woman with a flower head were my sources of
inspiration. With them in mind, I created this surrealist garden
inhabited by a whimsical flower whose curves evoke a woman’s body,”
Carriau declared in a statement.
Givaudan’s Guillaume Flavigny created the floral, fruity, musky
scent for women, which targets a young customer. Top notes include
davana (marigolds) with black currant buds and red currant, as well
as wild rose. Peony, tea rose, cyclamen and vineyard peach mix in
the heart, while the base notes are composed of musk, sandalwood and
patchouli.
Little Kiss will launch this spring worldwide, a few months before
Dali's new women’s scent called It is Love, due to roll out globally
in September. The line comprises 30ml, 50ml and 100ml EdTs, priced
€28, €39 and €55 respectively."
