Newsweek in Russia
June 4, First issue of Russian Newsweek is to appear this Sunday, according to
agreement with Newsweek Inc., spokesman of Axel Springer Russia told Interfax
Friday.
“Russian Newsweek will combine the advantages of both its own editorial staff
and the international net of Newsweek reporters, which will help find the
stories of people who stand behind the news, and thus, please the Russian
readership using the new approach,” said the publisher’s spokesman.

Russian Newsweek will be distributed in Russia’s largest cities with a
circulation of 50 thousand. At present, Newsweek is being issued in 3 English
versions (for Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America), 8 versions
are issued under license in Japan, Korea, Spain, Kuwait, Poland, China and
Australia.
