if you want to turn the time - go to Konstancin

Hi guys, for those who are interested in Poland I can recommend a great
destination - Konstancin near Warsaw. I remember that place from my
childhood years and it seems to look the same smile. It has the same
atmosphere - older people on old bikes - like 20 years ago, Tężnia (how to
translate it? a wooden construction with salty waters falling down and inside
you can breath the salty air - the best for flu wink. Everywhere pine trees,
beautiful but usually distroyed old villas - when you look at them you can
feel the spirit of that place smile. Now the spirit is sometimes unsettled by
underwear drying on the historical balustrates - the sign of socializm when
the villas were divided into several flats and accidental people located
there.

There are often local festivals organised, you can ride on ponys (for ponys
safetly only kids pleasewink. When you are hungry you can each at one of the
restaurants - I don't remember the name now, but is is not far away from
Tężnia and it has a kindergarden. The owner takes the order and ask for the
name (you can choose your own one or a nickname). When the meal is ready you
can hear a voice asking f. ex. "Mr Antonio Banderas please: ;D. And the best
transport is a bike - forget the bus and car.

I have some great photos from Konstancin. if anyone interested I can send.

Pozdrowienia i do zobaczenia w Konstancinie,

Agnieszka smile

I guess you have out of date knowledge!
Most of villas are renovated (but kept the specific climate) - the fact is that
since Konstancin became prestigeous place, land in there is very expensive and
lots of residences were suddenly ( a miracle!) found by legal owners. They have
      relocated residents and - voila!
I agree Konstancin is wonderful place to live.
Old people on old bikes you can see in a ny place in Poland! Not only here...
The restaurant's name (the owner calling through the speaker) is ZDROJOWA - but
      I know better places...

I live here for over 20 yrs.

      Pozdrawiam

        Hej,

Thanks for information smile. I've written how I see that place. Are you sure
that most of them are renovated?

I think the good old days of Konstancin are long gone...

It is percieved by many Varsovians as a yuppie asylum smile
Also named the Beverly Hills of Warsaw, for some peculiar reason (ok, many
owners of the palaces there have 2 jags and a pony).

There are other 'unspoilt' places in Warsaw I prefer (no offence to anyonesmile)
They still have that old pre WWII Poland streaksmile

Sure, I can easily understand why the spirit would be unsettled having to look
at some long johns, mens briefs and ladies bras... I would love to go to
Konstancin just to see that. That's what makes a place truly genuine and
      priceless. smile

      And the best
      > transport is a bike - forget the bus and car.

A little exercise is good for everybody!
I have just looked at a pile of really beautiful pictures of Konstancin.
This is what I miss so much ...Poland's wonderful history and its old spirit
that goes with it. You really get to appreciate it so much more when you live
in a country that has little to compare it with.

      Just look at that!
