How many of you now have Polish citizenship?

I assume Uncle Davey has. So do I. What about the rest of us foreigners? I'm
also curious to know how long it took others to get it and what kind of ordeal
they had to go through.

I do not have citizenship and I still have time to consider if I want to.
But I know somebody who recently became Polish citizen and it went quite
smoothly, but under some new regulations (I did not check the law yet).
      The requirements:
      1. married for at least 3 years and
      2. staying permit for at least 2 years.

As I understood, he just filed the request and got the citizenship. He didn't
had to pass any exam (history or language).

I followed the same steps you listed, but before I was able to fulfil those
requirements my adventures with immigration didn't go so smoothly (I admit part
of it was my own fault). By the time I applied for permanent residence I had
already been married 9 years and had been living in Poland nearly 10 years, but
they refused me on a technicality as I had breaks in my temporary residence
cards (in between I had visas), so I had to apply again for a temporary
residence card which I made use of for only 3 months before I applied once again
for permanent residence. As soon as I got that, I placed my papers for
citizenship - from that point on everything was smooth sailing.

You also can aquire polish citizenship if your parents have it( Zasada krwi/Ius
Sanguinis). Also as part of repatriation.
It is not that difficult to acquire citizenship but I am sure it was easier
before Poland joined the EU. Also I would say it is much easier to get Polish
citizenship than a British one - the Poles are much more easy goingsmile
