Compliments

As I've noticed the foreigners on this forum are rather guys, while my wife
noticed that on the other forum (Zwiazki mieszane) there are rather Polish
women whose husband is foreigner.

Polish husband and foreigner wife seems rather the exceptions, I could say
even rara avissmile

I think that this is really a compliment for Polish girls!

maybe that' s because women tend to stay closer totheir families and home? That
would mean that Polish guys who married foreign women have left the country.

I'm one of the exceptions smile I left my home and family to settle here with my
        Polish husband.
But your right, most foreigners I meet here are male (and mostly single).

Yes, Kathleensmile you are one of the exceptions.
Was it hard for you to find job here in Poland?

And in general it would be interesting to hear what are your experiences in
          looking for/finding a job.

Well, I can't say it was hard for me to find work. From the beginning my husband
and I have been in business for ourselves. There were always the odd jobs for
language schools as well. Things have changed, but 10 years ago I had to fight
off offers to work as a language teacher and never had to look for anything. I
guess you could say I was "in the right place at the right time". Now it's
certainly a lot more difficult for foreigners to find work, even in the language
            teaching sector.

A couple of decades ago it might have been true what you said, but in today's
society it is not necessarily true. I would rather challenge it.

I work with forced migrants and undocumented migrants, so I don't know much
about regular migrants, but it would be interesting to check some statistics
        regarding which gender/migration.

Oposite to common believe Polish guys are not less atractive to foreign women
than Polish ladies are to foreign men.
I personaly met several of Polish guys here in the US who had foreign wifes . I
dated two asian women myself for the long time, and what is funny I been
complimented by both asian, american and even african- americans women for
having "beautifull eyes"....and being a "real geantleman". I didn't mean to
sound conceited, but what the hell!
      • bartis_ervin Re: Polish guys popularity? 28.07.05, 11:35

I did not say that Polish guys are not attractive and I didn't even know that
that's a common belief. Even if, being a man, it is not up to me to say thissmile

I just complimented Polish girls in general and wrote based on what is going on
in this and the other forum.

Yeah, You propably were not paying any attention, but polish women often think
that polish guys are only atractive to women from countries of the former USSR.
Being "atractive" for them is synonimous with having money.
