I was in TTW Opex when it struck, and had to stay ther until it was safe to
      leave the building.

When I got back home, I was informed that the strip of sheet metal along the
top of the dividing wall between my terrace and the flat next door's terrace
had been struck by lightning, and it was lying on my terrace all charred and
      twisted out of shape.

Here's what it looked like: www.usenetposts.com/stormdamage.jpg

I hope you got dried up in time, before there was any permanent damage.
