Polish president-elect plagiarised Blair's code of ethics
Tue Nov 15, 1:33 PM ET
WARSAW (AFP) - Polish conservative president-elect Lech Kaczynski's code of
conduct for ministers liberally borrows entire passages from that used by
British Prime Minister Tony Blair for his Labour party government, a
Polish publication reported
To back up its claims, the Metro daily freesheet compared several extracts
from Blair's Code of Ethics and Procedural Guidance for Ministers and
Kaczynski's guidelines for good conduct, which he had presented to the Polish
public in early October when the presidential campaign was in full swing.
Kaczynski, who won the presidential election in a surprise come-from-behind
victory over the liberal Donald Tusk in the second round late last month, was
on holiday and unavailable for comment.
Last week, the Zycie Warszawy daily newspaper levelled a similar accusation
at new Polish Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz, who allegedly copied
entire passages of his policy speech to parliament from a speech by his
predecessor, leftwing prime minister Marek Belka.
Both Kaczynski and Marcinkiewicz are leading lights in the conservative,
Catholic Law and Justice (PiS) party, which pledged during its successful
campaigns in Poland's legislative and presidential polls to fight corruption
and bolster Poland's moral grounding.

What is it with this copying phenomenon?
Run out of ideas? Or just no time to do their homework?
