Polish president-elect plagiarised Blair's code of ethics

Tue Nov 15, 1:33 PM ET

WARSAW (AFP) - Polish conservative president-elect Lech Kaczynski's code of
conduct for ministers liberally borrows entire passages from that used by
British Prime Minister Tony Blair for his Labour party government, a
Polish publication reported

To back up its claims, the Metro daily freesheet compared several extracts
from Blair's Code of Ethics and Procedural Guidance for Ministers and
Kaczynski's guidelines for good conduct, which he had presented to the Polish
public in early October when the presidential campaign was in full swing.

Kaczynski, who won the presidential election in a surprise come-from-behind
victory over the liberal Donald Tusk in the second round late last month, was
on holiday and unavailable for comment.

Last week, the Zycie Warszawy daily newspaper levelled a similar accusation
at new Polish Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz, who allegedly copied
entire passages of his policy speech to parliament from a speech by his
predecessor, leftwing prime minister Marek Belka.

Both Kaczynski and Marcinkiewicz are leading lights in the conservative,
Catholic Law and Justice (PiS) party, which pledged during its successful
campaigns in Poland's legislative and presidential polls to fight corruption
and bolster Poland's moral grounding.

What is it with this copying phenomenon?
Run out of ideas? Or just no time to do their homework?smile)))

Does it really matter where the things came from, if they are good.

The problem is that the code of conduct may be good, but if a minister doesn't
abide by it, and the PM ignores it (viz-a-viz Mandelson & Blunkett), then what's
      the point anyway?

      Maggie,
      Once again, stop spamming.
Do you seriously think people need you to select internet articles they should
read? It looks like you read the same articles, and about same issues everybody
else does anyways, so why bother?

Instead why don't you look up some usefull articles you could learn from; for
expample articles on humility, you desperately need some...

Come on Waldek; Save your pathetic ramblings for another forum - Please.

Waldek, what's your problem with Maggie?

The fact that Kaczory "lifted" this comes as no surprise to me. 'Balcerowicz
has to go' was also not originally theirs, Religa's policy was not originally
          theirs.

The only bright side in my opinion is that other countries have also had
dreadful governments and managed to come through it. Let's hope we do too.

I was trying to explain to my friends in England how things look here. Does
anyone have any comments / ideas on how to explain it within terms of reference
understandable for the average Brit? I was thinking an equivalent would be
along the lines of an unoffical coalition between the most conservative of the
Conservatives, the BNP, UKIP and the Socialist Workers with someone like George
Galloway as head of the party and his slighly less aggressive duplicate as
President. Times by 10. If anyone can be more precise then please let me know.

He wants her to spank him. I think that as people who are forced (well, not
really forced) to read the forums he stalks her on we have a right to see what
she looks like and judge for ourselves.
Everyone - find photos of what you think Maggie might look like, and post them
            (jest przecież nasza...)

I've tried to explain the presidential election run-off in a Scottish context.
If we were electing a president, Kaczyński and Tusk would be on opposite wings
of the Conservative party, neither would be chosen as their candidate because
as a compromise they'd have someone who was half fascistic one-nation Tory,
half obsessive free-marketeer. And he'd get 10% of the votes because nobody
really gives a shit what the Tories think.

smile interesting, but I want to explain to them an equivalent of what we've got
rather than how equivalent candidates would do in the UK - and I am stuggling
to find suitable equivalents to the guys in power here. Who in British politics
could even come close to Lepper or Giertych? As an example, when I say to my
friends that many of the people in government here think that gay people are ill
and should go to hospital they think I am joking. They think my descriptions are
massively over-exaggerated when I think that they don't even come close. Then
they complain about the government in the UK and I think that's hilarious!

when looking at Lepper - Scargill comes to mind somehow smile))
Giertych? Mmmmmm.... well to me he looks like a younger version of Ian

Thanks Maggie, Scargill goes someway towards explaining the concept of Lepper.
