Why are there so many florists in Poland?

I'm sure there's a reason, but is it a good one?

Because we love occasions to give them. No shortage of those!
birhtday, nameday, christening, wedding, funeral, prom party, matura, grandma
day, grandpa day, teachers day and numerous religious holidays, the list goes
      on!
Personally I like to visit Bronisze - it is a big floral market just outside
      of Warsaw, good deals.

I am only guessing, Maggie that they must be a heck of a lot more affordable
than our Canadian counterparts. One carnation goes for $3, a rose for about the
same or more (depends on the season), orchids...don't even ask...and little
bouquet arrangements with baby's breath (hate those and yet they seem to stick
those into everything)..$40 and more. It's like there is a piece of gold inside
        or something.
Mind you, I think it's just a matter of time before that changes for you guys
        too.
I think it's a very sweet thing to bring each other flowers. I think we would
do that more often if they only dropped the prices a little.

        smile

Really kylie, flowers aren't that cheap here neither.
Having a florsit has become something of an artform.
