So, what are your NY resolutions going to be?

Anybody got any interesting ones this year?

I wanted to cycle 600 kms last year (total of exercise bike and real bike)
but in the end I only did a little over 300kms. This was largely because of
the hours I worked, and the gym was often shut by the time I got home.

Now I got a good quality exercise bike from my wife - and I could tell that
the Chinese economy is burgeoning just from the fact that I could understand
the assembly instructions, unlike the 1990s - so I want to do a lot more this
year. I will set the target for 1000 km!

I'm also on a diet from midnight, gonna get up earlier and get to work at
8:00 in the morning, organise my work better, and learn to do more audio
stuff on the computer. I want to improve my website also.

What resolutions have you got? It might be worth sharing them as then there
is more impetus to stick to them...

ok, so I want to continue my treadmill and exercise bike routine which I
started in October, and it has worked wonders. It may be somewhat difficult at
first, since I will be relocating to DC in January, but resolutions being what
they are--I am sure not to break this one till February at the earliest smile
Other than that-there is a pile of books on my floor that need to be read at
some point. I also want to get back to the snail-mail letter writing which gave
me a lot of pleasure years ago, and I somehow drifted away from it over the
last two years or so. oooo-and, I need to be better with my laptop. Lately, I
have been traveling a lot with it, and need to know more software applications
when my assistant is not with me smile
This should keep me busy for a while in 2006.

I'm going to drink a lot, behave irresponsibly and continue to lie about my
      intention to start exercising.
Like every year, I intend to finish reading all the books I've got before
      buying any new ones.
I'm going to re-learn some of the things I've forgotten, like French and
      playing the guitar.
And there was something about a driving test and cleaning the cooker, but I
haven't worked out the details yet.

I have an ambition to become first polish master painter on the World scale,
that shouldn't be that difficult because no polish painter has made major
impact on international level, besides Lempicka, but even she was sort of
      mediocry between the best.

I thank God I'm not pianist or composer because it would be hard to beat Chopin
himself...But for now more realistic goal is to paint more, and finish first my
      serious collection first..

I wish I could have (a) the patience and (b) the talent to paint

yeah, you're right! It's not that easy to start painting especially in oils,
first its a quite an investment, second if you have noone to teach you, you
pretty much have to figure out everything on your own. But it gives me great
satisfaction to create something, create my own world...

It would be great to see some of your work, Waldek, have you put any on line?
            • waldek1610 Re: So, what are your NY resolutions going to be? 31.12.05, 11:02
no, not untill I have a serious collection and I'm ready to take the World by
storm...For now, I just can tell you that I paint realistic pictures, mostly
portraits, polish historical figures and stuff like that. There's a tremendous
              gap to fill....

I'll make sure to update you.

How about a preview, just for the group, eh?

                      too sexy?

I think they probably don't exist.
