The event is partly sponsored by me, so that everyone who comes will have 30
PLN paid by me, up to a ceiling of 400 PLN, which doesn't even divide by 30,
but what the heck, as we say in accountancy. It is up to individuals if we are
gonna be eating or just drinking. The place is not too dear, by the way, for
what it is.

I have an idea of doing it maybe on a Monday evening, as I can usually be
available on a Monday evening, and the cafes and restaurants are not so
oversubscribed that it becomes hard to talk.

The someplace else is the Sheraton Hotel's bar and is pretty central as it is
just off of Plac Trzech Krzyzy, a vital transport node and metropolitan hub.

I'm open for suggestions as to other venues, though. Someplace Else got rather
too smokey for my liking last time.

of course you are welcome to arrange your own one if you like, you have my
blessing, like anybody needs it ...0

forum to a prestigious evening "do" by the British Polish Chamber of Commerce
which my company is co-sponsoring in Katowice on 23rd February. Please identify

I sent it to your gazeta.pl inbox, a good ten days or so ago.

If you are interested in coming Thursday night, it is basically in the Silesia
centre in katowice, and there is scottish dancing and whiskey tasting. If you
give me a call on Thursday on 0606 356 219 during the day I'll tell you exactly
when and where. I was supposed to let the organsiers have all the names and
addresses of participants by the end of last week, and I didn't get your RSVP,
so I didn't give your details, but since we're co-sponsoring it I don't think
it will be a problem to break the rules and get a couple more late announced
guests in.

Having had a second read of this, I did have a smile - if we did a map of where
we are and stuck a pin in the mathematical centre, we would probably end up
meeting in some hole like Krosniewice, Kutno or Leczyca.

It reminds me of when I had a few students on a course that lasted several
weeks some years back. It was all very well until we had to change the agreed
weekly timeslot for the class one time because of a bank holiday or something -
I can't remember what caused it.

Then I noticed some people wanted a meeting in one place and some in another,
some people wanted on a certain day, and some on another day, so, ever the
believer in democracy, I put it to the vote. First a show of hands for which
place then a show of hands for which day. Then a show of hands for which time
of day. And then I took the most popular of each option, and we ended up with a
time, date and venue which nobody could make.

I am also french and very happy to have finally found a forum in English in
Poland. I am 30 living for more than five year in Poland. It is a great idea to
organize get together party with new people because after so much time in
warsaw i tend to hang out always with the same people....
Unfortunately will probably not be here on the 27th of february, but if you are
looking for a bar in the center of warsaw without to much smoke and where you

OK, Antoine, there will be other occasions. So far I;m not sure atht anyone has
put their name down for 27th, so I might have to scratch that venue if there
are no definite yesses by this time next week.

Antoine, you might want to try Nicholas private mail, as he was all in favour
of meeting people in Warsaw, especially french speakers, if I rightly recall.
I'm sure he would be happy to hear from you. I know he was disappointed that
work kept him from our first gathering.
