Forwarding message from the New Chamber Orchestra

Hello,

Many people have been asking me when the next Tasty Classics is going to be,
especially following our very successful event for ambassadors at the Bristol
just before Christmas. As yet I dont know. January and February are always
bad months: people just don`t seem to want to come. However, that didn`t
deter Kredyt Bank from asking us to organise a dinner concert for their
senior international staff at the Bristol in January. With all probability,
we will begin again towards the end of March.

That said, we have an amazing concert programme coming up. The world famous
soprano Elizabeth Connell is coming to sing with us in June in a Mozart
concert. All we have to do is find her an hotel and air fare. A great vote
of confidence in the orchestra.

Then, at the end of the year, (though a lot before that), we are doing
Handel`s Messiah at Polskie Radio with Emma Kirby and Michael Chance
(hopefully)....if we can pay for them. We`ve booked them, anyway. These
wonderful singers will attract a huge audience. If you would like to support
this concert we have a new donors and friends progamme on our web page
www.fnok.pl
Please take a moment to look at it.

And, whilst you are looking, you might like to consider giving us your 1% tax
donation. We need your help for our educational work more than ever. Poland
needs activities that will develop a civil society. Music can play a vital
role in schools. Though we are getting more support from the City for our
public concerts, our budget for inter-active schools concerts has stopped,
even though we had as many as 500 children every week. A great pity for the
orchestra and the children of Warsaw.

The Don Giovanni project is slowly getting off the ground: Poland`s part in
RESEO`s European project to get music theatre into schools as part of the
250th anniversary of Mozart`s birth. H.E. Mr. Charles Crawford, the British
Ambassador, is Patron. Kredyt Bank and Unilever Polska are helping us with
this, but we could do with some more help.

Our amateur choir is growing fast. After a really busy time with Christmas
carols, now we are preparing the St. John Passion by Scarlatti for Easter and
a programme of English church music. In October, we shall be giving the
Polish premier of The Crucifixion, John Stainer`s great oratorio and a
Mozart Missa Brevis. If you enjoy singing, or would like to try, please
contact me. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evening and all are welcome.

So, a lot is happening. If you would like to be part of our work please take
a look at our web page or contact me directly.
I shall, however, send you our concert and Tasty Classics details as soon as
they are confirmed.

Again, thanks to all our Patrons and supporters from last year including: the
City of Warsaw, BPH Bank, Lloyds Register; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crawford,
Ambassador Andre von Graffenried, our accountants Horwath JBC Audit and
lawyers Kancelaria Adwokacka Malecki and Rychlowski

Wishing you well in this slippery weather.
