UK identity cards

15.02.06, 15:22
Sad day - all UK residents will need to present their identity card with
passport applications after 2008.
I've no idea about non-residents.
That's GBP 10 billion down the drain then.

A good idea but sadly misconceived, as is almost all of the ideas coming from
Tony & crew recently. Along with the Tories of the last several era's the UK
has slowly lost it's identity & direction. The card will do what precisely?
Couldn't the passport do it already?

          Not quite.
They'll never bring back conscription, and Brits would never tolerate
compulsory registration of their address or religious symbols hung in
government offices and schools, so don't worry about the UK turning into Iran
or Poland. There's still hope smile

Please don't be so silly and compare Iran to Poland.....

I guess in equatorial africa they do not care about those cards either.
