I read it, then an hour later he'd changed it, and also the name.
At the moment, about half past one on Friday, it's called "Salon Odrzuconych".

It used to be named "Kochajmy się" or something close. Too many alter egos and
              visible problems with own identity.

He called it "Kochajmy siebie i innych". What he meant was what you said,
          though.

Then he turned the name of it to "Friends of Poland Think Tank", for about half
an hour it bore that name until it dawned on him how people would laugh at the
idea of his Forum being a "think tank", and then he liquidated the whole thing,
in doing so liquidating the 80 odd posts he managed to accumulate in as many
          days.

He has now started a new forum called "Salon Odrzuconych" - stealing the name
of an existing successful forum in order to guarantee himself at least some
traffic from the requests of their disgruntled members asking him to change the
          name of his forum.

It's very pathetic. He is such a gollum-biewski. He hates the foreignerses
forum now because we stole his precious.

It was actually called "Hyde Park" for the first hour, and in his mission
statement he declared that he was going to create a new Poland. Then he changed
            it.

Will they ever learn that Speaker's corner
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speakers_corner , which is only a small part of
Hyde Park (there were also speakers corners in other London parks anyway) was a
haven of free speech in Victorian England, and that now freedom to address the
public with ones view is now ubiquitous in our country?

Whenever Poles make a big deal about Hyde Park, it looks like either their
knowledge of the UK is stuck in Victoriana or think the state of freedom in
their own country is at the level of Victorian England.

"Speaker's Corner" would be a quite interesting name for a forum, but for
Waldek's forum "Soapbox Complete with Built-in Reactionary Carpetbagging
Attention-Seeker" would be bang on the button.

It's the same when they talk about Thatcher - "The Iron Lady, who was a strong
                decisive leader".
A lot of Poles don't realise that when a control-freak gets her nickname from a
medieval torture instrument, it's not usually a compliment.

But what have image and marketing got to do with reality?
My girlfriend spent the whole of the 1980s in Poland, and all she knows about
Thatcher is what she's read in the Polish papers. She occasionally says she
thinks Thatcher was cool, maybe it's just to provoke me. I've told her several
times she must never, ever say that in Scotland. We're going to the north of
England in the summer, where "Maggie, Maggie, Maggie - out, out, out!" was also
the unofficial national anthem, and I'm worried she might say something
                    stupid...
The new Tory leader has officially turned his back on Thatcherism, declaring
that "society does exist", but his party will continue to be offensive and
irrelevant to tens of millions of people in a very large geographical area.

Well, those of us who work in that field - know that marketing means selling a
dream and most marketing is based in stereotypes. Which is a shame but if you
look at the advertising of the tourist board, to most England is tea at five,
hyde park, the queen etc. It's the way it works. Without that, things would be
                      bland.
You cannot blame the avarage Pole for thinking that way about the UK. Or anyone
else about other places. As it is the image projected through the media that is
the first impression you get and those tend to last.
Not all of us have the chance to go somewhere and see the 'reality' smile

It was the Soviet media, I forget the name of the particular hack, who coined
it. It was a sort of backhanded soubriquet which could be understood either as
a compliment or as an insult. From what I can gather the correlation to a
torture instrument is coincidental, and not the true origin of the phrase.

he doesn't do himself and c) missing a comma and making a spelling mistake?
