Some people don't understand what is going on

24.02.06, 09:52
I was reading the last 2 months topics here, actually a lot about politics,
in the FLP forum and I read more than once references to "SLD Mafia
Pruszkowska".

Can somebody calmly explain what it means?

The gentleman has asked you a simple question Maggie, why don't you answer it..
Maybe we can get a confession from you, that would be the first one. Something
along lines; "I'm Maggie, and I do admit I belong to the SLD/Organized Crime
cronies that preyied on Poland for since 1945, I deeply regreat that, please
        forgive me!"

Can you say that, and get it over with, Maggie? By the way isn't it amaising
how manny generation of hienas preyed on Poland and they never bother to admit
their wrongdoing...I wouldn't expect it from new generation of rotten elites
that continue to distroy Poland untill now.

SLD Mafia pruszkowska is the name of organisation, where Maggie and Ianek held
prominent positions, according to some posters here wink

On the serious side, SLD is political party rooted in PRL's PZPR, Polish variant
of communist party, which of course was so communist as I am Martian. It is
claimed to be socialist one, but its economical program was more conservative
than many political parties dubbed to be right wing by mainstream media. Well, I
never forget them raising personal taxes in 1993, what excludes them forever
from my voting sympathies apart from other issues.

Mafia pruszkowska is/was an organised crime organisation, which is/was as
organised as ZUS and more less the same criminal. It is named by the City of
Pruszków where the bosses were supposed to live, which is of course not true
because they lived in the surrounding. One of them was certain Mr. Pershing,
shot in Zakopane in a parking lot of Hotel Kasprowy long time ago.

The M.p. is now in disorder after one of the main figures there, certain Mr.
Masa decided to join the Light Side and enjoyed the status of material witness.
His depositions allowed courts to sentence the m.p. bosses for long-term
imprisonment. As the nature tolerates no vacuum, other groups filled in the
position of once almighty, number one of criminal Poland, group organised by
      some frustrated ex-pickpocketers.

Now there are some rumours that m.p. was closely related to politicians, mainly
from SLD, however this is IMO not true. Some SLD politicians had/has connections
to some of criminal groups in the country certainly (see Starachowice case and
infamous discharge of Mr. Sobótka), but not to m.p. because they lacked any
power to corrupt prominent persons. Anyway, m.p. is yesterday's news but still a
strong point of reference to some discussing criminal-related layers of Poland's
      life.

      So are the things.

Thank you very much to all.

I didn't know about that, honestly.

I guess I can do a comparission to the left overs of Portuguese fascists.

I will try to understand even better what hapenned.

Like Sting says in his song... history will teach us nothing.

P.S. I'm fine Nasza_Maggie, obrigado, and you? smile

          Hello,

I'm ok. The reason I didn't full anwser your question was because really, the
things you are probably asking about are the troll messagessmile So I didn't want
          to encourage thatsmile

As you see we are having a second vote but apart from that all is well here.
All is well with me, for nowsmile And spring is around the corner which makes me
happy as long as it doesn't rain too much.
Where have you been and was it nice???

            Czesc!

Appart from some "delegacja" in France and in China most part of time in my
            second homeland...Poland.

Actually I didn´t want to encourage either any conflicts between you Poles smile

I hope the FLiP forum will be most of all a place of good humour and
interchange of opinions about many other subjects rather than politics or -if
            so- not that much.

Actually only in 2014 I will be able to vote in Polish elections anyway (I
            think).

If what some people say about a terrible global catastrophe caused by a
meteoroid by the year 2012 than I will never vote anyway smile

But as you know I'm quite prone to believe in conspiracy theories wink

Portulaco! – Being a EU citizen you will be able to vote in the coming local
elections this year – in 2006 (unless Kaczka (the president) decides to appoint
the local councils in order to save money just like he did in Warszawa).

Next time you can vote will be in the elections to the European Parliament in
              around 4 years time.

                Dziekuje Hardenfelt!

Nowadays I have the "Karta Pobyu Obywatela Unii Europejskiej" expiring in 2009-07-09 and I was told that because I can only have the permanent stay permit in 2014 (10 years period) I don't have right to vote here in Poland.

Another curious matter is the driver´s licence. First I was told I couldn't drive in Poland since there is no agreement between Portugal and Poland, then I wrote to European Comission complaining and they answered that not only I have right to drive in Poland as also to have Polish "Prawo Jasdy" without any exame, plus... if needed I can have further support from EC to solve this problem.

Answer in from the old lady with the glasses hanging in the nose looking to some To i Owo? "Prosze Pan! smile) It's up to you if you wan't to drive with Portuguese driver´s licence or Polish one!"

Ironic at least... the car I brought from Portugal was legalized in my name, insurance it's too in my name...

European Union it's still far from perfection indeed, I wonder how it will lock like in May the 1st 2006, isn't it supposed for Poland to be member of Shengen Space finally???

Very good posts, in this thread.

Well – Your experience just confirms my theory – never trust a Polish urzędnik.
Take care always to get identical information from at least two independent
sources before you count on something. And the best is to check it yourself
afterwards. There are of course helpful, efficient and trustworthy officials,
but based on my experience they are a minority.

Your Karta Pobytu Obywatela Unii Europejskiej is the highest possible
acknowledgment you can get in Poland. With this card you have almost the same
rights as a native Pole (there are certain transition rules though). You will
not need a Karta Stałego Pobytu and you will never get one. Among other things
you can vote in the local elections though it will be necessary to register in
the electoral register. More about this when election time approaches.

Driving licenses from other EU countries are valid in Poland until 6 months
after you receive your residence card:
                  www.powiat.cieszyn.pl/pp/wydzialy/wk/wkp/4/WKP_04.htm
These rules are almost identical in all EU countries, trough I believe you can
drive longer in the UK without exchanging your drivers license to a national
one. I don’t know the consequences of not exchanging your Portuguese drivers
license but if you have an accident I’m petty sure you will face some problems.
Polish drivers licenses have the holders address printed on the permit and
unless the rules changed lately you should change your drivers license every
time you move to a new address.

Also remember that your Karta Pobytu Obywatela Unii Europejskiej gives you the
right to register a permanent address in the local registration office. In
general the people employed in these registration offices will do everything
possible to avoid registering people or try to register a temporary address.
It’s a reminiscence from communist times where the registration gave you the
right to live where you were registered. Most Poles (including the ones there
work at the registration offices) still believe that “stałe meldunek” entitles
them to some rights but it is not so any more. All you need to register is your
residence card and a rental contract (or some other document indication that
you live where you live). They have no right to demand the owner’s signature on
the registration form, though they still frequently do so.
