      Hi alapacz!

What kind of animal do you have? From where you're from?

I travelled from Portugal to Poland 3 times with my Guinea Pig and there was no problem ever, anyway there's no law for this rodents and in Świecko the guy was comfortably concealed under the passenger seat. big_grin

        Hi!

I'm from Poland, but I was asked to write a kind of guide for expats who
consider relocating to Poland. I want to make it as helpful as possible so I
need to collect opinions of experts - you smile.

Actually I was wandering how it is with smaller animals like hamsters or
birds.. There are regulations concerning dogs, cats and ferrets but what about
other animals. I'm going to find in at the Veterinary Inspectorate but, if you
have any experience I will appreciate smile.

        Pozdrowienia,

        Agi smile

I'm no expert as I only ever travelled with tropical fish, and these only ever
seemed to meet with the amusement of border guards. Once I was asked whether I
was taking any animals into Britain and I said I had about 30 tropical fish on
the back seat, and she gave me a smile that was "yeah, ok, take it seriously",
          but funnily enough I did.

The countries of Britain and Ireland are the countries free of rabies, and
these are the people who will be affected by the issue of pets, not so much in
getting their pets over here, which is pretty easy, but rather in ever getting
them back again afterwards, if they are to avoid the lengthy quarantine
          requirements of the UK.

There is a system called Passports for Pets which concerns UK people, and has
been extended to about 16 rabies-free regions of the world:

If you are producing something which will be read by ex-pats, then do please
tell them about our group, as I hope it will be a help to them throughout their
          time here.

Are my eyes deceiving me or did someone write "ex-rats"?

I only used the "e" word because the original poster did.

Thank you for information smile. Of course, I will write about the forum smile, this
could be great place to meet other foreigners in Poland. I have one questions:
            what's wrong with "expat" word?
