I am sure many of you have heard of this possibility in Poland, to give one
procent of your taxes to a charity of your choice.
www.jedenprocent.pl/
If any of you, feel like getting involved. There is a 4 year old girl who
needs to raise approx. 30,000 euros for her operation. We already have raised
some funds but time is running out.

Her name is Marysia and she is the daughter of some very dear friends to our
family.

If you would like to get invloved, please let me know and I will email you.

      Some info in English:

According to the polish legal regulations, a natural person who pays tax
individually or with a spouse and whose yearly income exceeds the statutory tax-
exempt amount, can donate 1 percent of the due tax to the chosen non profit
      organization.

The donation comes entirely from the sum paid as due income tax and does not
involve any additional payment on the part of the donor.

Calculate the due income tax after all applicable deductions. Determine the
amount of 1 percent of your tax due (e.g. if the due sum equals 4000zl, it
amounts to 40zl. Do not take grosh into consideration - if 1 per cent equals
      50,77zl simply write down 50zl.)

Please check the operation fee in your bank. Note - if you do the payment at
the post office you will only pay 1 PLN commission fee.

Transfer the money to ............. Foundation bank account. Entitle the
transfer 'Dla............ 1% podatku zgodnie z art. 27d ustawy, KRS nr......'

Note! You must transfer the money before or on the day your tax payment at the
      latest.

Deduct the transferred amount from the due tax total and describe it as follows
      - In PIT-36 form, for persons running a business activity, write the amount in
      the position 179 therein
      - In PIT-37 form, for those employed on full-time basis or under employment
contract, in the position 111 therein
      - In PIT-28 form, for those settling tax obligations in form of periodical lump
      sums, in item 103 therein

If irregularities are stated in your tax statement as to due total tax with
      respect to:
      1) arrears: - you will have to pay the due amount less the sum donated
      2) overpayment: - you will be returned the surplus plus the sum donated
