Jackie could of done better!

I don't know whether this was supposed to be an "April Fools" joke or not,
but I'm certainly laughing.

It seriously appears that more people actually have been in favour of
spending their precious tax pounds and dollars on kicking islamicist ass than
have been against, just that the latter group were more vocal about their
feelings - and now it appears they're not even more vocal than the
supporters! No wonder Straw chuckles.

Straw laughs off anti-war protestors
(Filed: 01/04/2006)

Jack Straw, the Foreign Secretary, has said he could have arranged a more
impressive anti-war demonstration than the one which greeted Condoleezza Rice
on the final leg of her tour of the North West.

Protestors have followed Miss Rice's visit
Mr Straw and the American secretary of state were in Blackburn today for
meetings with Muslim leaders and local dignitaries.

The pair also visited Blackburn's Roman Catholic Cathedral, but were greeted
with jeers and crowds chanting anti-war slogans at both locations.

Today's protests are the latest in a series of demonstrations that have
blighted Miss Rice's visit to Britain, but Mr Straw said he was unimpressed
at the turnout.

"They said they were going to get busloads and busloads in," he said.

"If they had asked me I could have done better."

Mr Straw insisted that there had actually been more supporters of the visit
on the streets of Blackburn than demonstrators protesting against.

"It does show the strength of positive feeling across the North West and the
affection and support for this visit," he said.

Miss Rice added that she had enjoyed a warm welcome in the region, and backed
the demonstrators' right to protest.

"Democracy is the only system that allows people to be heard and be heard
peacefully," she said.

"When there are more places where people's voices can be heard peacefully,
especially in the Middle East, we are all going to be better off."

yeah I am laughing too, as an Australian living in poland it is funny to hear
Ms Rice say we are living in a demcracy so we have freedome of speach. Only the
freedome of speech does not have an impact on the people who have to make REAL
decisions. You take a look at the polls and see in Australia and UK the
majority of people did not agree with going to Iraq and still dont. I can say
living here that the reasons places like Australia and Poland joined
the "coilition" was for their future protection with the help of their
strong "friends" the US. We as dthe public were initially fooled by the US
especially as we lost so many lifes in Bali that the people behind this tragedy
were being supported by Iraq and if we do not stop them there is a lot worse to
come as they are developing the now famous " weapons of mass destruction". They
created a smokescreen to make us think we have to stop these people and also
gave governments like Australia something to "sell" to the people who would
then say yeah lets get them before they get us. It is all about money and it is
really sad that so many people have followed this unwillingly. I don't think
Saddam was a good man in fact he was evil but so is what the US has done to
iraq. Is a sad world when so many countries can do such bad things on the base
of lies. I am sure that Ms Rice will be a huge success in the future and it
scares me. Its all about money and oil.
