Neostrada

Does anybody here share my frustrations with TPSA and Neostrada?
Where we live - Bielany - there is only Neostrada for broadband.
We decided to change our modem for a LiveBox WiFi router... and since the last
six weeks have been trying to do so. Last weekend Neostrada phoned us and told
there was a Livebox waiting for us in the Bemowo Telepunkt.
Only when we got there... they told us that we did not get the Livebox because
the "system denied ir" and they could not tell why!!!!
Anyway my wife got so angry that she almost called her friend, fellow
TV-producer, to send a "Uwaga" camera team next time.
I hope that the story gets a happy end...

Neostrada is shi'te. Aster or UPC are a better option. I cannot believe you
cannot get either of them in Bielany.

      Give Aster a ring.

I lived in Bielany on Ceglowska and I remember that when we checked ASTER it was
extremely expensive to install it, because they had no cable in the "region" and
they wanted to make us pay for it.

It is genuinely bizarre - but the next block in our street has UPC or Aster
(cannot remember which one) and ours has not.
I think it is because in Bielany live mostly ordinary Warsovians with little
money to spare for broadband or cable.

with your hard earned money. I am sure that you work too hard to spend it
frivolously on the company, which can't fix lines for a man somewhere in Polish
province until Jacques Chirac calls them and ask to do it.

This whole company is a joke.

I'm not familiar with either UPC or Aster, due to my location. My internet
connection is via radio-antenna, through TPSA. Just out of curiousity, does
internet via antenna even exist in Warsaw and other large cities?

Even though many may consider TPSA to be a dinosaur, it is really impressive
the progress Poland has made in internet technology during a span of only
several years. This radio-antenna service that I am using only came about in
the summer of 2004, not bad considering not long ago prior to that, there
really wasn't much offered at all. Just this year, TPSA started offering
Neostrada via telephone line in our village, so now there are two options. Even
though the antenna option is cheaper, Neostrada doesn't frequently disconnect
the connection when talking on Skype or downloading, which is a common
annoyance with antenna. Fiber optics are the next internet phase.

        Cheers,

        Eugene

I've got internet via antenna out in Komorow after TPSA cut off my fax
capacity, in fact my phone full stop, without warning. When contacted, they
said, "Oh yes, we did cut you off, didn't we. We thought you'd be getting in
touch soon. An equipment problem - we didn't pay the licence. Never mind,
we'll have you up and running in a month or two."
Fine, except the new short wave radio connection wasn't good enough to run a
fax machine on and I need to be contactable for proofing at night.

Skype doesn't work on my antenna.
