      NHL.

Takiej gry
sie oczekuje (oczywiscie gole tez by sie przydly). Dobrze w
ofensywie i w koncu swietnie w obronie. Wracal sie, pomagal
obroncom. Nie bylo juz niedokladnych szybkich podan jak
wczesniej by sie pozbyc krazka niz go przeciwnik udezy. Czekal
to zaplaci, bo go ktos stuknie. Na prawde swietny mecz
Czerkawskiego. Acha, jego konkurent do miejsca w ataku zostal
wyslany do Hamilton - jak Mariusz wczesniej. Zawodnik
francuskojezyczny- stad - wiec w bajki mozna wlozyc teorie o
    rasizmie.

Zgadzam sie, Mariusz zagral b. dobrze. Jak tak dalej bedzie
gral to i bramki beda wpadaly. Nie zgadzam sie z twoim drugim
punktem. Audette jako Frankophone dostal duzo wieksza szanse
zeby wyjsc z jego problemow. Mariuszowi sie udalo ze akurat
trener z Hamiltonu zostal trenerem Canadiens. On jest
wypowiadaja o anglo. i alo. zawodnikach (np. o Gilmour, Rivest,
Hacket, Czerkawski, itd.). Rasizm niesamowity! Muslal bys
uslyszec tego "zmije" Michel Bergeron (i kilku innych) wtedy bys
uwiezyl jaka francuske media jest. A trenerzy i menagerowie tez
to slysza i zawsze jakis efekt jest.

Przeczytaj ponizszy artykul. Todd musi uwazac zeby nie za ostro
ich skrytykowac. Jest duzo gorzej - wiesz mi! gizmo

          Hackett becomes fall guy

          JACK TODD
          The Gazette

          Saturday, January 25, 2003
          ADVERTISEMENT

While channel-surfing Thursday night in search of some reasoned
analysis of the trade that sent Kyle McLaren to San Jose, Jeff
Hackett to Boston (!) and Niklas Sundstrom to the Cana-diens, I
was only mildly surprised to see that some of my colleagues were
elbowing one another in the eye in the rush to throw knives at
          Hackett's departing back.

Was it a good trade? Was it possible that Hackett as a Bruin
might come back to haunt his former team? How would Sundstrom
fit on a team with a glut of forwards?

Who knows? If you listened to the French-language talk shows,
the name of the game was "get Hackett!"

Golly. All this time covering the Canadiens and I never realized
that it is Jeff Hackett's fault the Habs have not won the last
four Stanley Cups, or that he was responsible for any and all
bad chemical reactions in the room.

It's the conspiracy-theory school of hockey commentary, a way
for lazy, brain-dead loud-mouths to have something to say
without having to go to all the trouble of thinking before they
          say it.

You will never hear this garbage from the mouths of pros like
Bertrand Raymond of Le Journal or François Gagnon of Le Soleil
or Ronald King of La Presse - but when former coaches Michel
Bergeron or Jean Perron are near a microphone, look out.

Bergeron was leading the pack on the TQS show 110 per cent
Thursday, stopping just short of saying that Hackett was a
cancer in the bosom of the team. Why did Jose Theodore struggle
early this season? Because he had Hackett peering over his
shoulder, of course, and because Michel Therrien actually dared
to play Hackett when Theodore wasn't going well.

From there, they were on Hackett like flies on manure. Hackett
put out bad vibes in the room, said one. Hackett sulked when he
          didn't play, said another.

Among his multitudinous other sins, Hackett was accused of being
a bad influence on Chad Kilger. Gosh, and last week they were
telling us that messing up Kilger was Doug Gilmour's job.

Here's the truth, for those who can be bothered to listen:
Kilger is a big boy. Bilingual, intelligent, capable of making
his own decisions. If he has a bad night on the ice it has
nothing to do with Gilmour or Hackett or the price of tea in
          China.

When Patrice Brisebois got faked out of his jock by Dave
Andreychuk on the play that cost the Canadiens a point in Tampa,
was it because Patrick Traverse is a bad influence on him? Or
Donald Audette? Nope. It was because Brisebois just (ital) does
(end ital) things like that, without anyone else's help. If we
confine ourselves to looking at what happens on the ice, we
          would all understand that much.

Mercifully, CKAC's Pierre Rinfret (the only one among the
Thursday night crew who is around the team on a regular basis)
came to Hackett's defence. Hackett is a pro, Rinfret insisted.
He is there to do a job and he does his job, period.

The others couldn't wait to hoot Rinfret down. No, no, no.
Hackett was the fly in the ointment, Hackett was the reason
Therrien was fired. Hackett is to blame for this cold snap.

Seriously. Could we at least approach this at the level of
kindergartners? From what we have seen of Jeff Hackett these
past few seasons, he is a pro all the way. When asked to play,
he plays - and well. When asked to sit, he sits.

Was Hackett deliriously happy to be riding the pines? I should
hope not. Show me an athlete who is happy not playing and I'll
show you a player I want on someone else's roster.

Some of the former coaches in this town should pay attention to
Jacques Demers. Demers has made the jump from coach to the booth
the way it ought to be done - he works hard, he comes prepared,
he doesn't throw out all kinds of nonsense just to attract
attention and he doesn't deal in conspiracy theories.

The commentators who go after players like Hackett and Gilmour
have this bizarre, jock-sniffer's fascination with "the room."
The locker room is where something mysterious is always going
on. Where conspiracies are afoot any time one player talks to
another, where politicians abound and athletes are few.

Funny. I could have sworn that the room is a place where a bunch
of tired, sweaty millionaires who snap each other on the butt
with wet towels when they aren't talking about Shania Twain, the
location of the best Porsche dealership or who wants to lay a
          spare thousand on the Raiders.

          Conspiracies? That's Dick Cheney's department.

Instead of ripping Hackett as he was leaving town, we should be
thanking him. If not for the six to 10 points Hackett stole
while No Way Jose was trying to find his game, the Habs would be
pushing up daisies right now and the guys on the late-night open-
mouth shows would have nothing to talk about.

          (type breaker please)

In a Super Bowl that pits two of the most obnoxious ownerships
in sports against each other (Al Davis in Oakland, the Glazer
family in Tampa) we're not looking forward to the dominating
performance we expect to see from the Buccaneers defence Sunday.

Like it or not, we are going to have to put up with the crowing
Meshawn Johnson, the absurdly Type A Chucky Gruden and the
mouthy Warren Sapp as Super Bowl champs. Much as we would love
to see Jerry Rice with another Super Bowl ring, this one will
finish like this: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24, Oakland Raiders 13.

Taak świetna gra Mariusza, nawet na niezbyt dotychczas
Mariuszowi przychylnych "forum-ach" dyskusyjnych fanów Canadiens
podkreśłano, że Marre powinien byc wybrany do trójki gwiazd
meczu, obok Theodore i Kolziga...
        to wyjątek)...

Zagral
prawie 19 min co swiadczyo zaufaniu trenera. OBy tak dalej. Dwa
swietne mecze w przeciagu 48 godzin.

No to jak Ucho chwali Czerkawskiego, to znaczy ze Mariusz musial
byc swietny. Ogladalem dzisiejszy mecz z Chicago, Mariusz nie
zdobyl punktu, ale zagral chyba najlepszy swoj mecz w barwach
Canadiens. Koledzy z prowincji Quebec, piszcie wiecej co mowia
we francuskojezycznych mediach o naszym hokeiscie. Jezeli chodzi
o Audette to powinien byc wyslany do Hamilton przed Czerkawskim.

Faktycznie, Mariusz zagral b.dobry mecz! Dalej nie ma szczescia, ale trener w
niego wierzy bo daje mu duzo czasu na lodzie. Audette w Hamiltonie sie rozegra
i tez moze wroci. Mam nadzieje bo go tez lubie i chcialbym go jeszcze zobaczyc
          w barwach Canadiens. gizmo
