So, british government is in talks with the leader of Iraq - an unelected
thug who rose to power through the ranks of the Ba'ath party, with a history
of brandishing guns and, it is alleged, shooting prisoners.
This isn't Saddam,
but Ayad Allawi, Iraq's "prime minister", who had talks with Tony Blair on
Sunday. This again shows that the occupation of Iraq has nothing to do with
bringing democracy, and everything to do with making Iraq safe for US big
business.

Is that a piece of a bigger thing? How about a link?

Now, have something from me. Really funny bit of text. Unfortunatelly it's sad
      at the same time...

Good news out of Baghdad: the Program Management Office, which oversees the
$18.4bn in US reconstruction funds, has finally set a goal it can meet. Sure,
electricity is below pre-war levels, the streets are rivers of sewage and more
Iraqis have been fired than hired. But now the PMO has contracted the British
mercenary firm Aegis to protect its employees from "assassination, kidnapping,
injury and" - get this - "embarrassment". I don't know if Aegis will succeed in
protecting PMO employees from violent attack, but embarrassment? I'd say
mission already accomplished. The people in charge of rebuilding Iraq can't be
embarrassed, because, clearly, they have no shame.

Only in America do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so
well: 'Poli' in Greek meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking
      creatures'

statement after statement that is totally at odds with reality, sometimes going
off the deep end of outright bufoonery.

      For Example:

The day that the Abu- Ghraib photos were released to the press, he announced in
the white house rose garden that "Saddam's torture chambers have been shut down"

Bush, on october 27, 2003, said that the deaths of the occupying troops in Iraq
signaled that progress was being made.

Bush refuses to ever acknowledge that there are any problems whatsoever in
Iraq, even going so far as to engage in odd, Orwellian doublespeak such
as "Catastrophic Success" to describe the situation in Iraq.
