get up, your lazy bears!

here's another matchbox riddle. The last one, I suppose, 'caise I've bought a
lighter =(
The Mayor of Slowenley, Alderman Green and Brown and their spouses, were
sitting round the table. Txe sexes alternated, but no man sat next to his
wife. If Green was two places to the right of Brown, and Mrs Green two places
to the right of Mrs Brown, who sat on the Mayor's right?" Why might be 2
possible answers?
I cannot guess it myself =(

      1) Mrs Green?
      2) Mrs Brown?

Depends what side you are looking at the table?

No, the order is fixed and it looks exactly the same regadless the angle. Each
couple has to sit across the table. The puzzle has two possible solutions
          because:
          1) If the Mayor is a man, then there's Mrs Green to his right.
          2) if the Mayor is a woman, then there's Mr Green to her right.

          Dead easy ;)

It looks like I am sexist ;)
I assumed that the Mayor _has to be_ a man!

            :)

I know you did. An alderman is also a title: a magistrate formerly ranking next
below the mayor in an English or Irish city or borough. But that part doesn't
really matter as the question concerns the Mayor.
