That was on Friday. Having arrived to my factory, I was told to work at the
table 23. All what I was expected to do, was to take a box of bananas, take
out the lid, control the quality of bananas inside and put the box on a
palet. After 5 minutes I stroke my fingers against a very sharp edge of the
corner of the table. With bleeding fingers, I called a supervisor.
- Can't you do anything about that bloody table? I've almost lost my fingers!
- Well, hummm - was the answer - actually, we have been complaining about it
for a couple of months and nothing can be done.
- If you twisted that table around (another edge being opposite to the wall),
I would not expose ny fingers on hazard.
- That cannot be done, because of the health and safety rules.
- What??? Should I understand, that those bloody rules care a shit about my
fingers?
- So it would appear. And now, start working, please.
