Definition

DUBYA W (slang for George Walker Bush; the 43rd US president)

Czyli, inaczej mowiac: Dablju :-)
    • Gość: Democrat Re: kto to jest DUBYA :-) IP: *.cnclrk01.pa.comcast.net 03.11.04, 05:47
Yes, Dubya stands for George W. Bush.

The middle initial (W for Walker) distinguishes him from his father, known
      simply as George Bush.

Daddy's full name is George Herbert Walker Bush but with names like these you
        can't run for president.

How about running for ... king?!
          • Gość: wj Re: indeed IP: *.nyc.rr.com 04.11.04, 02:13
The kings don't have to run for anything. They're already in.

Dubya is used as nickname for George W. Bush. It comes from how his middle
initial, the letter "W", is pronounced.

        > It comes from how his middle initial, the letter "W", is pronounced.

"W" is pronounced "double u", dabelju. "dubya" is how "dubya" pronounces "W",
since the the leader of the world includes a speach impediment in the list of
        his many defects.

        • Gość: syd Re: close IP: *.ma-cambridg0.sa.earthlink.net 07.11.04, 01:00
an accent is not a speech impediment

Bush also says NUCULAR instead of nuclear what Kerry pointed on Letterman show.
Guess what, Carter says NUCULAR as well as former democratic senator De Concini.
By the way, in Texas "Tell you what" is a whole sentence.

Whipe off your tears. Life goes on.
          • erwas Re: get off that horse 07.11.04, 06:19
he actually does have a speach defect; difficulty with "l's" and suchlike. no
            big deal.
I worry more about other aspects of his persona than his inability to
            pronounce "W".

            look 'ere wack.
you appear to be at a stage of learning English, which is incomplete (as is
mine). you and others, who share your confusion and errors the with people
reading this forum, are doing them no favor by posturing like as if you are
familiar with and at ease with the language.
write about politics or about whatever other bullshit swirls arond in your
troubled mind; you represent a "condition" which interests me, and I want to
hear more. I always read your posts.

If you pronounce the word NUKULAR, you should not go around nullifying nuclear
treaties or building nuclear power plants.

                  We Must Have Patience

                  Posted on November 8, 2004

In response to the results of the Presidential election last week, I would like
to share with you a quote from Thomas Jefferson. Although written in 1798, I
feel his words speak perfectly to the strong sentiments of frustration and
disappointment 48% of the country feel.

"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their
spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their
government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are
suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long
oppressions of enormous public debt......If the game runs sometimes against us
at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an
opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game
                  where principles are at stake."

                  WHAT PRINCIPLES?

                  • erwas Re: get off that horse 09.11.04, 06:26
                    > this is a game where principles are at stake."

                    > WHAT PRINCIPLES?

those expressed in the Bill of Rights for example.

yes, Adam's Alien and Sedition Act and the repression of free speech that
followed can be seen as a precursor of the Patriot Act and the assault on the
rights and freedoms of the American (and not only!) people. we also have a
current John Adams type to whom these principles are an inconvenience.

you might find many other parallels, like in the loathing of France in those
                    days.

but…one thing missing: where is our current Thomas Jefferson?

Well, I don't know what this whole discussion is for. After watching "Farenheit
11/9" I get this strange feeling that misspronounciation is the less-harmful
thing he can do during the 2nd presidential period.
      • Gość: syd Re: kto to jest DUBYA :-) IP: *.155.132.219.Dial1.Baltimore1.Level3.net 08.11.04, 21:38
Wakashi mentioned Fahrenheit 9/11, that's as far left as you can go in American
politics and they hate Bush, so its biased. But anyway, I'm from America and
different parts of the country have different dialects (even my town has a
little bit different dialect than surrounding cities). Kerry is from Boston and
he can't pronounce "nuclear" normally either (he pronounces "idea" as idear).

Nukular Dubya once said that he was misunderestimated.
I really hate this fucker with my whole heart.

Yeah, yeah, yeah and Kennedy was saying "Cubar" instead of "Cuba". One
correction, though. Michael Moore is not as far left as you can go. I know
many young Americans, who are even more left than M.M. and proud of that.

W ciekawy sposob Dubya zszedl na troche inny temat.
Z lokalnymi dialektami w Irlandii jest podobnie. Kilka dni temu dowiedzialem
sie od Irlandczyka, z ktorym pracuje, ze wystarczy sie udac do wiosek zaraz za
gorami, ok 10 km, i juz tam mowia troche innym dialektem.
Good luck->Gud Luk, much-
            >mucz.
