If you had taken that little time to read my post, you would've known that
the
name doesn't tell me much, either.

own decision whether it's worth anything or not.

You don't understand. I don't read poetry or have a desire for that stuff. I
don't bother judging it either. To my uneducated mind, this piece does not
stand out in any significant way. That's me.

>Poetry defends itself

Well, if it does, you certainly shouldn't be telling me what to like and
respect. This place has got a pile of highly educated people but because I
don't fit in with the rest,it doesn't give you the right to judge me.I read
what I like to read and it's none of your business.

As to my original question, I still don't know why people "gang up" on
Maggie.
If you took the time to look at the previous threads, you would have realized
that I haven't been around that long. I don't read every single thread and I
am
not on this board every single day, either.

So, as for my original question, I am still in the dark. No too many people
are
willing to tell me what's going on.

there are a lot of names which I don't know. However, I don't reject anything on the basis of my not_knowing_it.

      the poem was really cute.
Plus it was one of the best known of Larkin's.
Plus it turns out it's started to live its own life - easy to remember and funny.

As for maggie, in my opinion English Only has deteriorated a lot since she started to "moderate" this forum.
Though, my guess is, "moderation" is one of the last words you could use to describe her 'activities' here. I'd rather call it blind censorship and killing most interesting discussions in the bud as well as moving some interesting threads to some distant location hardly anyone goes to.

If maggie asks people to *beep* out a few letters in their fluent anglo-saxon
and deletes the offending posts she only doing her job - she does what it it
says on the tin - hardly a surprise for anyone. I can't see that keeping the
swearing in would add that much value to anything. What was so great about the
comments about Larkin's poem? Some liked it, some never heard of it. " I like
it" was as deep as it got. Some bud.

I guess, for me it's just this proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm simply sick of what maggie is doing here - cutting, removing, changing. It's a bit too often for such a forum.

no point of discussing it, some like it, some don't.
          I don't. I'm out of here.

            Definitely.

That seems to be the only reasonable thing to do.

Well, nobody insists that you should like poetry, but at least let others read
      and discuss.

You are being rude and I hope you will get a message from Maggie about that.
Didn't have a chance to read her last post about personal remarks? Or were you
        that lazy to read?

Stop blowing all that steam. You froth at the mouth for nothing. Did I STOP you
from discussing anything? Did I delete anything? Get a life.
