a little poem...

...for a change. I am not asking anyone to translate it. I thought that
perhaps some food for soul might be useful on this fine forum. So here it is:

Let me tell yo a little tael.
Am yo alright,yo'm a lookin'pael?
It's abaht a mon naemed Tum,
by Tipun cut 'e called 'is 'um.

'e wore tew bright,ar thick in the yed,
of a mornin' 'e'd stay abed.
'e'd gerrup laet an' 'ave a swill
an' find sum fittle, 'is bally ter fill.

'e 'adn't allus bin ser dim,
as a kid 'e lerned ter swim,
in the cut just by 'is 'um,
the one as goz from 'ere t' Brum.

At 'is skewl 'e earned much praeze,
'cos swimmin' it woz all the raege.
'e'd cups an' trophies, shields an' all,
'angin on 'is bedroom wall.

Then one night 'e woz gooin' out,
an' from the path 'e 'eard a shout.
A babby woz drownin' in the cut,
Tum dived in an' grabbed 'is foot.

'e pulled that babby from the waeter,
'e saeved it's life but then much laeter,
a lump caem up on Tum's yed,
afore tew long 'e woz neely jed.

The doctors werked ter keep 'im 'ere,
it took 'em months, neely a year.
'e must 'ave bumped 'is yed they sed,
they day know if 'ed leave 'is bed.

'as years went by 'e day get right,
all 'e could dew woz shout an' fight.
So dow condemn wot yo see now,
'till yo know when an' why an' 'ow

HOWEVER if anyone could translate it (to English of course) that would be a
good deed indeed.

Cheers m8ies.

have a few pints and it'll all be crystal clear (I'm guessing),
quite likely the author himself was inebriated while creating the masterpiece,
the readers should approach it in a similar state?
      :)

Hmm, so maybe this one will be more relevant (if not too late)?

        Our lager,
        Which art in barrels,
        Hallowed be thy drink.
        Thy will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
        And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
        But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer, The bitter and The lager.
        Forever and ever,

        Barmen
