Gość: english-test.net Jorgen, results... IP: *.dip0.t-ipconnect.de 30.07.03, 15:25 @Jorgen, So your colleagues are taking the tests and are reluctant to show their results? Well, we probably should appreciate their activity because after all it's not so important what score someone gets but how they communicate with each other. English is a language spoken by humans and we are allowed to make 'mistakes' although those are not mistakes but part of the communication... What do you think? Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś

Which was nice :) - I wanted an opportunity to improve my practical English. Most test are below my level, while there's still a helluva things that need improving, mostly regarding my vocabulary i mean. rgdz Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś

Maybe some of you know international association (or something like this) based in Warsaw where english is needed to talk and understand each other? I would like to practise my English, especially spoken... Maybe an association having some aims to reach (to get know other nations for example)? Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś

I dont know what Jorgen thinks but in my opinion you are right. In school we learn grammar but the vocabulary is even more important because it allows us to understand people who dont speak in our national language. Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś

Gość: english-test.net Spelling 'to practise' - Thanks for your advice IP: *.dip0.t-ipconnect.de 06.08.03, 09:49 Gość portalu: ortografista napisał(a): > Gość portalu: english-test.net napisał(a): > > > Practise and improve your English here: > > > > www.english-test.net > > PRACTICE some more, specially spelling. Thanks for your advice! Britsh vs. American vs. International In the UK they distinguish between the verb 'to practise' and the noun 'practice' whereas in US American they don't. We find for learners of English the former version might be better. (similar to 'advice' vs. 'to advise') As a matter of fact we try to take the best of each version of English to blend it into a new form of international English because that's what this language is all about, especially on the Internet, wouldn't you agree? www.english-test.net Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
