can you please explain what is meant by [sic] in a text, it is abbrevation or
what? have seen it many times but got no idea what it is

      This is Latin meaning 'in such manner; so; thus.'

      A misspelled or incorrect word in a quotation followed by "[sic]"
      indicates the error appeared in the original source ie: it is not an
      editorial error.

      For example: 'The tourist guide assured us that the capital of
      England was Londonn [sic].'
