prepare.

You have to make a powerful impression as they will probably see a
      few candidates. My advice is:

1:Take a copy of your C.V + application form with you to the
interview. They will likely have such copies and it will help you to
be able to refer to them. It will also make an immediate impression:
      you are an organised person.

2:Your potential employer will have a checklist of areas that they
want you to respond to, for example general interveiw questions plus
questions about you as a person. What are you like out of work? What
hobbies do you have? What kind of things do you like doing when
      you're not working?

3: This personal section will probably comprise open ended
questions: this means you have to give a more detailed answer than
just a "yes" or a "no."

4:The structure of your interview should be straight forward. They
will offer you a drink. Make some small talk about your journey or
(if in the UK) the weather (LOL)and then they might ask you to talk
about yourself a bit and suddenly pop in a question: "are you an
organised person?" They may want you to give an example here.

5:Your purpose at the interview is to convince them you are the
right person for the job and give them the reassurance they are
looking for. If you find them going back to areas that you have
already covered in the interview it means that they are not sure on
these points. Just be confident here and try to answer their
      concerns in a confident manner.

6: Prep yourself up before the interview about any weak areas in
your employemnt history. If you have a long gap between jobs then
      think out a reasonable explanation.

7:If the job you are going for is with your existing employer then
treat it as if it was a new employer. You can be a little less
formal but don't crack jokes about people you work with or gossip
about colleagues in admin and so on!

8: Above all try to work out the questions you will asked. If
possible, role play the interview with a friend several times. Get
your friend to ask you the questions you think the employer will ask
      at the interview.

      Be prepared. Good luck.

You mean "thank you for your advice." :-)

Check out this site as they provide examples of both good and bad
c.vs in addition to cover letters:
