Hi John I would like to ask you if it is possible to prepare, during one year of working, studying and attending esol course in UK, for cae or cpe exam? Nowdays I am on B2 level, I am not a linguistic geek but I can work hard.
Moreover I would like to know what do you think about learning other language(s) during first year in UK. Is it better to attend course, learn from english orpolish textbooks, what is your opinion about correspondence courses?
ps I am thinking about italian or french.

      Hi,
It really depends on you. Distance learning is effective if you have
self discipline plus the ability to learn with minimal input from a
tutor. It is definately possible to prepare for a Cambridge exam
within a 12 month period, providing you have enough time for your
studies. The best idea is to approach the college-where you intend
to study-and seek their advice as to how many hours you should set
aside for study each week vis a vis your chosen course.

For the first year, I would learn English with Polish translation of
key words from a suitable text book.
