is it means something rude in english ?

      it doesn't mean anything rude

      it is something some people might shout to attract your attention

      polish equivalent would be 'hej ty!'

      We use this slang word to attract someone's attention. It is similar
      to "hey." For example, you your friend in the distance: "Oi! Over
      here."

      Though "oi" may have derived from the Greek word "Hoi Polloi"
      meaning the masses or common people and so on. This is generally
      accepted as being a derogatory term.

        i also heard it being used as a way of telling someone off in a kind
        of gentle way - so when a kid during the lesson said something
        inappropriate or when a dog barked at someone he shouldn't have ;)

        So people attract each other's attention by shouting "the!" in Greek?
        Highly doubtful.
