Singular but plural

Could you give some examples of words in singular but used with
verbs in plural? Like "people are..."

'people' is not exactly 'singular' - it's just an exeption to
      the 's' rule.
anyway, i know what you mean - some more examples could be: fish,
sheep, deer, where singular form is the same as plural.

now if you tlk about groups of people, you could use collective
nouns, like: audience, team and family with both singular AND plural
verbs (e.g. my family is big BUT my family are tall, our team
constists of 11 players BUT our team were brilliant today)

Don't worry about the spelling mistakes too much! Its more important
          to practise!
