In what biology? Biology of what?

I always had a great interest in biology.
I have always had a great interest in biology.

Both work but can suggest different things.

        thanks for your reply.

but what do you mean? what different things?

          "always".

          >I have always had a great interest in biology.

It hints that my being interested in biology over many years in the past has influenced what I now think or don't think of biology.

          >I always had a great interest in biology.

It just says what occurred in the past and says nothing about now.
