"The Czech Ministry of Defense is considering Israeli-made navigation and
targeting pods — and possibly air-launched missiles — for its frontline Gripen
fighters, Czech Defense Minister Kakel Kuhnl told reporters here March 15.
In a visit here hosted by Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, Kuhnl said
Czech military users and defense procurement officials have been evaluating
possible procurement of the Litening navigation and targeting system for its
Gripen fleet. And while no decision has been made, Kuhnl and Mofaz said
high-level talks here should pave the way for closer defense industrial ties
between the two countries.
Eitan Yudelevich, an executive at Rafael Armament Development Authority,
developers and producers of the Litening pod, said the Israeli system has been
successfully integrated in the Gripen under a cooperative agreement with
aircraft manufacturers Saab AB and BAE SYSTEMS. As for potential missile sales
to the Czech Republic, Yudelevich said Rafael is discussing with Gripen
partner firms possible integration of its Python family of air-launched
missiles as well as the Spice precision ground attack weapon.(...)"

"BOGOTA, Colombia, March 15 (Reuters) - At least 10 companies, including
U.S.-based Lockheed Martin Corp. are in the bidding for a contract to sell 22
combat planes to Colombia, the government said on Tuesday.
Among the companies bidding are Brazil's Embraer , Korea Aerospace Industries
Ltd., Raytheon Co. , the Aermacchi affiliate of Italy's Finmeccanica and
China's Catic.
The planes, for which the government has budgeted up to $234.5 million, would
be part of Colombia's two-year $540 million Air Force modernization program
aimed at helping Colombia fight illegal militias and drug traffickers that
control wide swathes of this Andean country, Defense Minister Jorge Alberto
Uribe told reporters.
The contract could be awarded as soon as October.
"The general objective is to recuperate the tactical capacity of the Air
Force," said Uribe, who is not related to Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe.(...)"
Jeśli LM, to raczej jego argentyński oddział i Pampa, ewentualnie jeszcze
Pucara - to już wybitnie przeciwpartyzancko;-). Raytheon - tu tylko jedna
możliwość Texan II, Embraer - któraś z wersji Tucano? KAI - KTX-1? Aermacchi
- tutaj do wyboru do koloru - asortyment Włosi mają szeroki. Ale to już moje
domysły.
