International Children's Day Picnic
2nd June 2007
Merrion Square Park
12pm - 4pm
In honour of International Children's Day which passes every year on the 1st
of June, we invite you to join a group of international and local families and
friends to a picnic and small activities day in the beautiful grounds of
Merrion Square Park.
In the wonderful environment of multi-cultural diversity that Dublin is
experiencing at the moment, celebrating International Children's day seems
more relevant now than ever. We not only invite you to join us for a picnic,
but will have a number of fun activities in the grounds of the park that both
parents and children can join in and learn something new.
Activities Include:
Free Face Painting.
Balloon animals.
Juggling Lessons for all ages as well as a demonstration by some professionals.
Art/Drawing/Painting corner for all ages thought by Art Teachers.
A few happy Clowns to make you smile.
A Music Corner to learn some drums or guitar.
Also, throughout the day there will be a treasure hunt around the park for
families to participate. Through this treasure hunt we hope to show how
cultural integration and awareness at any age level can help create a closer,
more understanding community.
We would like to note that this is not a public event. Safety and Security of
all in the Gardens is a concern so we ask you if you attend to maintain the
same awareness with your family as you would have at any other public park or
place. We are just a group of friends who would like to give something back to
the community that has already given us so much.
So bring your smiles, laughs and a wonderful family atmosphere with some
delicious food!
