DG ECFIN is looking for AD officials, Temporary Agents and Seconded National Experts specialising in Economics and Finance.
Additional posts in DG ECFIN in response to the economic crisis
The deepening of the economic and financial crisis has resulted into a significant expansion of the policy responsibilities of the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN), due to its involvement in enhanced economic surveillance activities (in particular in Member States in difficulty) and the formulation of policy proposals for tackling the current adverse developments and reforming economic governance.
Therefore, DG ECFIN is urgently reinforcing teams dealing directly with the management of the crisis and the strengthening of economic governance in EMU. The number of staff allocated to DG ECFIN has been significantly increased. To this end, DG ECFIN is looking for colleagues working in either the European Commission or the European Parliament or the Council Secretariat with the appropriate economic and financial background, who would be interested to take up one of these new crisis-related positions.

- Contribute to analytical work on financial sector issues in all programme and vulnerable Member States at country-specific and EU level, in particular in the fields of bank regulation and recapitalisation initiatives, stress tests and debt rescheduling;
- Develop initiatives for restoring the European growth potential in a post-crisis environment through economic policy coordination in the Euro area and for evaluating the impact of structural reforms on competitiveness gains and growth through analytical tools covering policies in areas, such as wage and employment, financial stability, competitiveness, industrial structure.
