The up-to-date concept
Discounts for previous exhibitors and for early booking

Dear Colleague;

The work for the 2004 International Dance Fair has already begun! We have
set the dates and reconfigured the program and the costs. Today, we want
you as an earlier partner to be the first to know of the new plans and ideas
for the 5th edition of the International Dance Fair.

First, the International Dance Fair will continue in Duesseldorf at the
NRW-Forum Wirtschaft und Kultur, but we have moved the dates to the end of
September. This small change will allow our non-European visitors to travel
outside the high season imposed on international airfares during the
summer months. Our dates will be Wednesday, September 29th to Saturday,
October 2nd, 2004. As in the past, we will open on Wednesday evening with a
special performance event. Set-up for the exhibitors will begin on Tuesday,
September 28th.

Second, the Dance Fair will expand the number of showcases from six to nine
blocks; thus three blocks a day will be scheduled from Thursday to Saturday.
All showcases will be in the Ehrenhof district, immediately accessible to
the Forum. In the evening, we suggest Dance Fair participants to attend
specially selected performances by important regional companies.

The vision of the Dance Fair has always been to be an international meeting
point for dance professionals. It is a gathering that brings together
choreographers, presenters, managers, dance artists, journalists, scientists
and other dance professionals for four days of communication and to see each
others work. The basic idea of our activities is that to better understand
each other, dance people need to see the dances of each other. Therefore,
our focus for 2004 will be to highlight the live performances in the
showcases.

Third, we will strengthen the curatorial process for the showcase program.
Some showcases will continue to be curated by the Dance Fair team. In some
cases, they will be curated by outside guest curators. By taking this step,
the Tanzmesse team can ensure a highly diverse showcase program. Most
showcases will be scheduled in the RobertSchumann-Saal at the museum
kunstpalast, but plans are underway to accommodate non-traditional
performance needs, such as outdoor spaces and more intimate, unusual spaces
in the area.

As in the past, all artists performing in showcases, will be required to be
represented in the exhibit halls. And all exhibitors are invited to request
consideration for inclusion in the showcase. We believe that seeing
performance is important, but discussion and discourse are equally important
and the exhibit halls will provide fair and open access to all. In addition
to seeing work, the International Dance Fair will offer an interesting
lectures and discussions program. You will have the opportunity to meet
international artists, presenters and institutions or to reconnect with
those you already know.

Fourth, we have made some changes in the exhibiting rates. The cost for
exhibitors depends on the size of the booth and on the type of booth that
you choose (information or sales booth). Information booths are intended for
artists, artist managers, and arts organizations. Sales Booths are intended
for commercial suppliers and businesses.
Information booths are available in the following standard sizes:
regular 455, medium 1.260, large 2.525.
An individually ordered extra large booth will cost 130 per sqm.
Sales Booths are available in the same standard sizes:
regular 595, medium 1.604, large 3.385.
An individually ordered extra large booth will cost per sqm 170 per sqm.

As a previous exhibitor and a very welcome colleague, we are pleased to
offer you an automatic 5% discount off the above rates. If you rent your
booth by November 28th, 2003, you will benefit from an additional discount
of 10% for early booking.

The team of Anne Neumann-Schultheis (founder and adviser of the
Internationale Tanzmesse) will remain intact: Kajo Nelles is the managing
director heading the team with Carolelinda Dickey, Roman Arndt, Christa
Grebe, and our new colleague Pascale Rudolph.
