There has been a renewed interest recently in a 2002 article by Paul Craig
Roberts, actually the first of two (here is the second), drawing attention to a
rather frightening phenomenon at Harvard University: the effort by a professor,
Noel Ignatiev, and his journal, Race Traitor, to promote the “cultural and
psychological genocide of whites.”

Now that’s an odd choice of words—guaranteed to draw attention to himself and
his ideas. Was he in any way also promoting the slaughter or liquidation of
whites, as some of his adversaries have suggested? Ignatiev says no. In his words,

We frequently get letters accusing us of being "racists," just like the KKK, and
have even been called a "hate group." ...

Our standard response is to draw an analogy with anti-royalism: to oppose
monarchy does not mean killing the king; it means getting rid of crowns,
thrones, royal titles, etc....

Ignatiev et al. have developed a story that goes as follows: A bunch of very bad
people got together and created a category called “white” to which they belong
but people with different colored skin can’t belong. Then they made laws that
favored people in the white category, they colluded with other whites to
dominate the economic and political process, and they invented baseless
scientific theories in which whiteness had its roots in real biological
differences.

America will soon have a white minority. This is a much desired state of affairs
for the hostile elites who hold political power and shape public opinion. But it
certainly creates some management issues — at least in the long run. After all,
it’s difficult to come up with an historical example of a nation with a solid
ethnic majority (90% white in 1950) that has voluntarily decided to cede
political and cultural power. Such transformations are typically accomplished by
military invasions, great battles, and untold suffering.

And it’s not as if everyone is doing it. Only Western nations view their own
demographic and cultural eclipse as a moral imperative. Indeed, as I have noted
previously, it is striking that racial nationalism has triumphed in Israel at
the same time that the Jewish intellectual and political movements and the
organized Jewish community have been the most active and effective force for a
non-white America. Indeed, a poll in 2008 found that Avigdor Lieberman was the
second most popular politician in Israel. Lieberman has advocated expulsion of
Arabs from Israel and has declared himself a follower of Vladimir Jabotinsky,
the leading pioneer of racial Zionism. The most popular politician in the poll
was Benjamin Netanyahu — another admirer of Jabotinsky. Prime Minister Ehud
Olmert and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni are also Jabotinskyists.

The racial Zionists are now carrying out yet another orgy of mass murder after a
starvation-inducing blockade and the usual triggering assault designed to
provoke Palestinian retaliation — which then becomes the cover for claims that
Israel is merely defending itself against terrorism. This monstrosity was
approved by overwhelming majorities of both Houses of Congress. The craven Bush
administration did its part by abstaining from a UN resolution designed by the
US Secretary of State as a result of a personal appeal by the Israeli Prime
Minister. This is yet another accomplishment of the Israel Lobby, but one they
would rather not have discussed in public. People might get the impression that
the Lobby really does dictate US foreign policy in the Mideast. Obviously, such
thoughts are only entertained by anti-Semites.

The first time I became aware of leftist Jews was when, as a reporter for The
Daily Cardinal, the student newspaper, at the University of Wisconsin, I was
assigned to cover a meeting of the Committee Against the War in Vietnam. This
was around 1965, just after the war started heating up. In my short career as a
reporter I had also covered a meeting of the Young Republicans, and the contrast
couldn’t have been more striking. The Young Republicans were all dressed up—men
in suits and ties, women in dresses—and looked like they were attending a
business meeting at the country club.

Even though the Young Republicans were all white and most of them came from
Wisconsin, I can’t say that I related to them much. But I felt even more alien
at the meeting of the antiwar committee. The attendees were dressed in a much
more Bohemian style and there was a lot of intense talk about politics. And they
were Jewish.

Any group that expects to survive into the long term future should be aware of
current trends and how they will influence the group. Jews take such planning
quite seriously. The Jewish People Policy Planning Institute has assumed the
role of long term planning for the Jewish people, not only in Israel but also
the Diaspora. The JPPPI is an independent think tank that reports to the Israeli
government and has close ties with other Jewish organizations. Its mission is
“to promote the thriving of the Jewish people via professional strategic
thinking and planning on issues of primary concern to world Jewry. JPPPI's work
is based on deep commitment to the future of the Jewish people with Israel as
its core state.”

The chairman of the Board of Directors of JPPPI from 2002 until early 2009 was
Dennis Ross — the same Dennis Ross who has played a major role in US policy in
the Middle East in the Bush I and Clinton administrations and was director of
the Washington Institute for Near East Policy — a hard-line pro-Israel lobbying
group. Ross gave up his position with the JPPPI after he was named as the Obama
administration’s top envoy to the Middle East, a position where he will be able
to influence policy on Iran and other issues deemed vital to Israel. (Ross
remains a "Consultant" at WINEP.)

It is noteworthy that no one complains when Ross is appointed to such an
important US foreign policy position despite his close ties to Israel and the
Israel Lobby; but there is major hysteria when people point out that Charles
Freeman (Obama's nominee for the head of the National Intelligence Council) has
an association with a group funded by Saudi Arabia.

The JPPPI’s report Facing Tomorrow 2008 is a sort of State of the Union document
for Judaism — a description of the state of Judaism and what challenges are on
the horizon. In scope and intention, it reminds one of the National Policy
Institute's report "The State of White America."

In my previous column, I attempted to analyze two important sex differences in
political behavior: Women’s tendency to be attracted to wealthy, powerful men,
and women’s relatively greater attraction to close relationships, empathy, and
nurturance. These differences make women less likely to be attracted to white
racialist movements given the current political context.

But these differences are not the main cause of our malaise. A correspondent
writing to me about my last column said that I should ask why white men are such
wimps that they are basically lying down and allowing themselves to be displaced.

It’s a good question. How could a race of people that conquered the world
suddenly lose confidence and voluntarily cede power? What explains the culture
of Western suicide?

It seems that the signs of white dispossession are everywhere these days. Edmund
Connelly describes how non-Jewish whites are being pushed out of elite
institutions like Harvard. An article titled “The end of white America”
catalogues the lack of cultural confidence of whites these days. It quotes a
student who says “To be white is to be culturally broke."

Writing in vdare.com, David A. Yeagley quotes one of his female students saying
“Look ... I don’t see anything about my culture to be proud of. It’s all
nothing. My race is just nothing.” Yeagley notes the Cheyenne saying, “A nation
is never defeated until the hearts of its women are on the ground.” And he
places this in the context of the recent election in which 46% of white women
voted for Obama compared to 41% of white men.

These percentages are somewhat inflated because they include Jews and
immigrants, such as South Asians, who are classified as white but do not
identify with the European-American majority. Nevertheless, they do point to a
significant gender gap. While it is certainly true that voting for McCain-Palin
is not a sign of white consciousness — even implicitly, it is also the case that
voting for Obama is a good sign of a lack of racial consciousness for European
Americans.

The good news, of course, is that a majority of white women did not vote for
Obama. And, as Steve Sailer has shown for the 2004 election, if one separated
out women who are married and have children, the results would show an even
greater tendency to vote against Obama.

A topic that is not discussed enough is the screaming, in-your-face, hostile
aggression that people must withstand when they dare to trample on Jewish
sensibilities. We are not talking about the sophisticated rationalization one
sees in the op-ed pages of the mainstream media, or even the smear techniques of
organizations like the ADL or the SPLC. We are talking about interpersonal
aggression. There is something absolutely primal about it.

Now comes a refreshingly frank blog post by Karin Friedemann, an ethnically
Jewish anti-Zionist. She notes the “violent intolerance” that defenders of

In my previous column, I noted the Stalinist tendencies of the leftists that are
so entrenched in the academic world. The fact is that the academic left has
never been concerned about truth when truth is incompatible with their political
objectives. This is the fundamental message of my book, The Culture of Critique
where I trace the involvement of Jewish intellectual activists in producing a
leftist academic culture that promoted specifically Jewish goals, including
lessening the political power and cultural influence of European-derived peoples
and the eradication of anti-Semitism.

Chief among the bogeymen of these Jewish intellectuals is Darwinism. The war
against Darwinism is a major theme of The Culture of Critique, and it persists
as a constant drumbeat in our culture—from the cultural Marxists who are in
charge of socializing our college students to a great many examples in popular
culture.

Consider Ben Stein's film Expelled. Stein depicts Darwinism as a stifling
orthodoxy that suppresses free inquiry into how things got this way. And in
particular, the triumph of Darwinism has meant that the theory of intelligent
design has been banished from the realm of reasonable discourse in the academic
world.
