Main group of Sab'iya Shi'i Islam, and often Sab'iyas are directly referred to
as Isma'ilis. From around 765 CE, the Isma'ilis were followers of imam Isma'il
and his son, while the other Shi'is were followers of imam Musa l-Kazim (this
branch developed into the Twelver branch of Shi'ism.
The 3rd name of this group is Seveners, which is a direct English translation
of Sab'iya, referring to the fact that they disagreed with other Shi'is over
who was to be considered as the 7th imam.
It is important not to confuse the 2 important Isma'ils of Islam – in this
case we're not talking about the son of Ibrahim.
Around 765: INITIAL SPLIT
The 6th imam, Jafaru s-Sadiq's son Isma'il died before his father, and the
future Isma'ilis meant that the line of imams should follow Isma'il through
his son Muhammad, and not Isma'il's brother Musa l-Kazim.
From its early beginnings, the Isma'ilis themselves were split. The first
split came over whether Muhammad was the last imam, or if the line should
continue with his son. The group supporting an end with Muhammad, came to be
known as Qarmatians. The other line, which came to be the successful, and from
which the Isma'ilis come, supported the line running from Muhammad bni
Isma'il. This group was called Fatimids at this time.

893: DEFINITE SPLIT BETWEEN QARMATIANS AND FATIMIDS
The imams under the Fatimids lived in strict disguise and were often unknown
to most members of their society. Hence there was little actual difference
between the Fatimids and the Qarmatians, and in southwestern Iran and southern
Iraq they lived side by side as they were one community.
The real break between the groups came in 893 CE as the Fatimid imam tried to
become an actual leader of the faithful, something the Karmatians could not
accept. The Karmatians would last as a group until the end of the 10th century.
Through the 9th century the Fatimids had grown strong in many regions, like
southwestern Iran, southern Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Yemen as well as in Maghreb.


1094: SPLIT BETWEEN MUSTA'LIANS AND NIZARIS
A later split among the Isma'ilis, was when a group of Fatimids did not
believe that caliph Hakim had died in 1021. This became the beginning of
today's Druze.
Another break came after the death of caliph Mustansir in 1094. As he was
followed by his brother Musta¨'il, who deposed Mustansir's son, Nizar.
Supporters of Nizar broke with Musta'il, and formed what came to be known as
Nizar Isma'ilis, of which the Assassins is one of the most known groups. The
group following Musta'il would be known as Musta'lians.
The Musta'lians would soon move into Yemen, where their community was ruled by
popes. From Yemen later on, their propaganda would be transferred to India.
Nizar and his son al-Hadi were soon imprisoned, and murdered. But al-Hadi had
an infant son and heir, al-Mutadi who was saved by faithful servants, and
brought to Persia, to the Isma'ili fortress of Alamut. He was raised by Hassan
e-Sabbah, and with his death in 1162, the imamate was passed on to al-Kahir
who openly ascended the throne in 1164 and declared that the Resurrection had
started.




Later imams of this line of Isma'ili Shi'ism lived in concealment or act as
other types of Muslim leaders (f.x. Sufi leaders) or political leaders.
With a later imam, in the 13th century, Shamsu d-Din, the Nizaris were split.
One group, the Qäsim-Shâhîs still exist, and is today mainly known through
their leader, the Aga Khan. This is also by far the largest Isma'ili sect
today, called Khojas, with 20 million adherents.

Cybercity vil fra 1. januar 2003 kunne dække hele landet med
bredbåndsforbindelser. Cybercitys betydelige investeringer i udrulning af ADSL i
Danmark fortsætter med uformindsket styrke. Dermed understreger Cybercity sin
position som det reelle alternativ til TDC.
