Modlin airport for low-costs to be launched later
2006-07-14 21:12
Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The launching of the airport for low-cost carriers
has been postponed again. It turned out, however, that it may be placed not
in Modlin but somewhere els.
Yesterday, the team working over Modling airport project, met for the seventh
time. The representatives of the Ministry of Transport and PPL, the operator
of Polish airports, invited low-cost carriers. They heard that the airport
should be launched in fall 2007 but there may be some delays.
“The Modlin project seems to be a long way ahead”, Tomasz Kulakowski from
Ryanair said.
“We want finally to be told details concerning the infrastructure, prices and
how to get to the airport”, Eryk Klopotowski, SkyEurope spokesman said.
There were proposals of new sites for the airport.
“Sochaczew and Minsk Mazowiecki would like to have a civil airport as well.
The first town to launch the airport, will win”, Tomasz Kulakowski explained.
