Rozdanie nagród również....
W tym roku trudno wskazać zdecydowane faworyta. Duncan był w zeszłym roku,
choć w tym zasługuje zdecydowanie bardziej, Garnett, Bryant, McGrady....
Co ciekawe z reguły wybór MVP był w NBA bardzo jednoznaczny. No moze takie
sytuacje jak z Shaq`iem (120 na 121 pierwszych miejsc) nie zdarzały się zbyt
często, ale rzadko wybór był nie jednoznaczny.
do tej pory tylko kilka razy róznica miedzy MVP a pierwszym przegranym nie
była spora. Najbardziej zarzarte do tej pory były głosowania:

Jak sądzicie czy okaże się dziennikarze jednoizancznie wskarzą jednego gracza

Nie zgodziłbym się, że TD w tym roku zasługuje bardziej niż ostatnio (lepszy
był sezon temu, to Spurs są lepsi jako drużyna, głównie dzieki Parkerowi) – ale
oczywiście to wciąż świetny kandydat.
Dzięki za użyteczne info, z jedną uwagą; w 1976 Kareem musiał mieć więcej
głosów ogółem od McAdoo, bo to on wygrał.

MVP: Kevin Garnett, Timberwolves. Since it's never been determined if MVP is
really MEP (Most Excellent Player) or MVPOAWT (Most Valuable Player on a
Winning Team) or MVPOTBT (Most Valuable Player on the Best Team) or MIP (Most
Indispensable Player, meaning the guy whose team would simply cease to exist
without him), I selected a MVIEPOAWT (Most Valuable, Indispensable, Excellent
Player on a Winning Team) whose season has had the added magical quality of
being a cut above anything he's done before. The Spurs' Tim Duncan fits the
bill, but he's like Shaquille O'Neal in that he could win every year and I
wouldn't protest. It's enough, for now, that he got the award over a more-
deserving Jason Kidd last season.

Coach of the Year: Flip Saunders, Timberwolves. No team is better prepared, no
coach is more creative. Who else would play KG up top in a zone? Despite losing
point guards Chauncey Billups (free agency) and Terrell Brandon (injury), Flip
has the T-Wolves on track for another 50-win season. I'm not down on Minnesota
for not getting out of the first round; I'm impressed that despite losing key
personnel every year, they still make it back there and put up a good fight.
Other worthy candidates: Mo Cheeks, Blazers; Rick Carlisle, Pistons; Frank
Johnson, Suns.

Nie jest to może (niestety) głos rozstrzygający, niemniej bardzo ciekawy. Co do
Flipa to mam mieszane uczucia może i jest niezłym strategiem, ale średnio
potrafi reagować na to co się dzieje na parkiecie - stąd miedzy innymi porażki
w seriach z SA i Dallas w ostatnich dwóch sezonach.

Troche propagandy

Sorry, że tak uprawiam tak bezwstydną propaganę (czuję się jak Tomasz Lis, ale
przynajmniej ja walczę w słusznej sprawie :)

Chciałbym przytoczyć artykuł, który wydał mi się bardzo ciekawy i myślę, że
zaciekawi też innych. Pokazuje przedwstępne wyniki głosowania, parę mechanizmów
i sposobów myślenia o MVP. Zawiera trochę porównań między KG a TD i wydaje się,
że Duncan ma w tym momencie pewną przewagę. Ciekawa jest też opinia Sama Smitha
(niestety nie do końca jest bezsensowna...).

the Lakers back into the hunt, and it’s possible home court (however unlikely).
This seasons best individual performances clearly belong to Kobe. Remove Shaq
from the equation in LA, and it’s possible Kobe is the best player in the
league.

Consider what Tracy McGrady has had to work with this year, and his season is
even more impressive. The late season push to the playoffs, the spectacular

wins. Tracy has been a great individual player, but the most telling part of
Tracy’s game this season has been his leadership.

Look at what Kevin Garnett has accomplished this season… averaging a double-
double, with 6 assists a game, doing it with a marginal group of supporting
players. He’s playing in the hardest division for a big man, facing the best
fours in the game. Kevin and the Wolves sit in four place with home court.
Kevin added muscle and mass to his slim frame, and his game is a couple of
notches higher.

Not that my vote counts (yet), but my MVP is Kevin Garnett… Tracy and Kobe have
done amazing things this year, but Kevin’s improvement over last season as a
player, the rise in the standings of his team, the manner in which he’s played
and averaging a solid double-double in a very tough division, making him the
winner in my book, but it would and should be a close race.

W związku z nagrodą MVp przypomniało mi się jak w wieku mniej więcej robiłem
sobie statystyki może nie tak skomplikowane jak IBM ale nawet się
sprawdzały,więc teraz też tak zrobiłem(biore dziesięciu zawodników i według
miejsc,które zajmują w poszczególnych zestawieniach przyznaje im
iejsca).Wyszło mi,że bezapelacyjnie najlepszy w tym roku jest KG.

teraz bilans ich drużyn, i tego się trzymam. Oto pierwsza „5”, jak wszyscy
wiedzą, w tym roku wyjątkowo trudna do wyboru z uwagi na wyrównany, wysoki
poziom:

P.S. Kolego bartoszekil, czy mógłbyś przybliżyć, jaką to metodę porównywania
statystyk rozwinąłeś „w wieku mniej więcej”? ;-) Bo mnie, jakbym nie patrzył,
wychodzi, ze Kobe (u Ciebie - poza „5”) jest statystycznie lepszy od T – Maca
(u Ciebie trzeci).
