GROZNY. June 6 (Interfax) - Eleven people have been detained in the
Shelkovskoi district of Russia's North Caucasus republic of Chechnya for
their suspected involvement with guerrilla groups, a local law enforcement
source told Interfax on Monday.
"Investigators are now working with the detainees," the source said.
Four houses were destroyed in a fire that occurred in the village of
Borozdinovskaya, he said. The body of a local resident was later found in one
of the buildings. An investigation is underway.
"Several caches containing weapons and ammunition" were discovered in a
series of search operations in Grozny, the Achkhoi-Martan, Vedeno and Nozhai-
Yurt districts, the source said.
