British Student in Krakow

I will be studying in Krakow for one semester from 15 February 2002. I am a
British male aged 29. To help me make the transition from the UK to Poland, I
thought it would be a good idea to get to know someone from the area before I
arrive.

I would also like to meet someone who could help me learn the Polish language.
In return, I would help them improve their English. Just an idea.

If you are willing to help, please contact me on l.gannicott@easyhosts.com

Sorry mate, but what do you intend to study in K without the knowledge of the
lingo? Polish is not something you learn as you go. You will need some basics
to start with and it will take time, patience and perseverance. If you know
any other Slavic language it may help a bit but don't kid yourself it will be
easy. Anyhow, try and get some intensive intro course before you go.

As far as actually living there is concerned, you will find that quite a number
of young people in particular speak English to a degree. There's also a
sizeable English speaking expat community (mainly Yanks). Transition as such
won't be a problem. K is a gem of a city and you will find there most things
you're familiar with at home and more.

      Good luck

      cheers

      mir
