Poland/Enterprises/Investment Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - Knauf Pack, the producer of packages and boxes (including those used by home appliances producers) has decided to build its plant in Walbrzyska Special Economic Zone, where Electrolux has its factory. Knauf Pack was going to locate its plant near Whirlpool's plant in Wroclaw but the home appliances producer failed to give its permission in time. The package producer will build the site in 2005. 'We will announce details of the project in the middle of January. We still want to cooperate with Whirlpool', Michal Jakubowski, Knauf Pack Poland CEO said. Although Whirlpool had said that its subcontractors, mainly from Italy, would follow its investment in Wroclaw, only one company decided to build its plant there, while two others failed to do that. 'We have brought many subcontractors when we invested in Polar. Now, we are also talking to many companies but we cannot reveal details', Uwe Horlacher, Whirlpool Wroclaw plant head said. Wroclaw's local authorities do not complain as Whirlpool keeps hiring new employees. 'I have to admit, however, that the Spanish owner of Wrozamet is more active - he has talked two companies already to invest in Poland', Pawel Panczyj from Wroclaw's President's office said. In 2005, the investments in the home appliances sector will be the largest in years. Whirlpool, Electrolux and Bosh Siemens are going to invest over PLN 840 million (EUR 199.1 million). Wygląda na to że miało być bliżej Wrocka, ale coś chyba nie wyszło z jakimś pozwoleniem... Chyba że źle zrozumiałem tekst.
