"Ryanair prefers Wroclaw to Budapest
Having discarding Budapest as a potential location, Irish budget airline
Ryanair is expected to establish a regional hub in Wroclaw, Poland, business
weekly Világgazdaság reported, citing an interview given by CEO Michael
O'Leary to Polish business newspaper Puls Biznesu. Speaking about the reasons
behind the decision, O'Leary said the Polish market was four times larger
than the Hungarian one, which also offers an opportunity in the domestic
airline market. Ryanair plans to set up the hub in 2006 depending on the
success of its new Wroclaw-London flight, which will be launched on March 24
and is expected to attract a minimum of 100,000-120,000 passengers. "
