Callin' All,
the artwork (you might have seen in nme news) for blurs new album is to be
done by a grafitti artist called Banksy, if you haven' seen his web site,
it's a must visit. www.banksy.co.uk

True, nice site. (Kind of visitor-unfriendly, but still
      nice...)

Well, I guess they couldn't use another Graham Coxon's
      painting after all... wink
      • marbled Re: blur think bank 25.03.03, 16:45
it is a very "follow the leader" site, but the ride is thought provoking, I'm
off to the hardware shop to buy a can of spray paint!!
I used to have a piece of Coxon artwork, and lyrics to parklife a year before
it was released, but grrr burglars took them and probably had no idea what
        they'd taken sad

Ooooh, that's the kind of site madee likes! True, kinda visitor-unfriendly,
but made up for it after few clicks. Who knows, with the 'Out of time' single
and artwork like this, I might actually end up buying the album, not
      downloading it!

It's great when artwork makes you HAVE to buy the music and not download it smile
But I do find some download sites very well designed and hard to refuse my use!

Ow Hi.. New Blur album , yeah I have heard one song from it.Not bad.
I think that brit pop is die`ing sad That`s sad I know. Ofcourse we have bands
      like Coldplay but...
      Nothing better than Oasis >smile))
      • marbled Re: blur think bank 25.03.03, 18:57
Oasis were great for helping to make Britpop headline news and draw attention
to some great bands, but they were criminal for continuing to release records
after What's The Story!! Grunge will always remain legendary because of Kurt,
but Britpop quickly faded into a cartoon word, while so many of the bands
released truly great songs, the name Britpop reduces them to silly karaoke
songs. In Neil Youngs words, "it's better to burn out than fade away", Grunge
was about the music, Britpop was about too many music magazines. True 'Britpop'
happened in the late 80's and early 90's with the Roses, Mondays, La's etc..
Oasis are as true as Puddle Of Mud smile))

          underneath the sky
          stand by me
          i got the fever
          i hope i think i know
          don't go away
          all around the world
          go let it out
          let's all make believe
          who feels love?
          gas panic
          sunday morning call
          roll it over
          the hindu times
          stop crying your heart out

          songbird
          born on a different cloud
          better man

I'd love to hear more "criminal" songs, if you have some...

not one of those songs have progressed from the promise of their first album, I
don't and can't deny there are some good songs in your list Ilhan, and Songbird
is one of the songs of the year, but they do not challenge. Oasis are a lazy
band who burst onto the scene with an energy which they sold out to by hiring
safe producers and a bass player who is one of the best guitarists England has
produced in the last 15 years! I bet all the songs you've listed sounded better
as Noel demo's (except Songbird) and the crime as I see it, is for a band in
their position to be so unimaginative and stale, they take no chances and are
have not been exciting for years.

Yes, I know, the last two albums were not exactly what I've been waiting for,
and should've been better, it's not the same as even 5-6 years ago. But Oasis
are still a great band, I've read that they're really brilliant live now, Noel
still writes good songs, and Liam is, for me, one of the best frontmen ever.
That's why they're still exciting for me, more exciting than any new rock band.
              • marbled Re: <jeb><jeb><jeb> 25.03.03, 22:30
Noel doesn't know the best producers, but he has picked two very fine musicians
in Andy and Gem. Ilhan, do you know any of Andy's old work from his other two
bands Ride and Hurricane #1? I haven't heard them live recently to know of the
quality, but if he shares songwriting more, the next album does stand a chance
of being more rounded, better lyrics!! But how is Liam a great frontman? I saw
it at first, the Supersonic video he looked cool, but from then on from me he
looks a puppet, great voice, but static. Did you see the Live Forever video
when he started to do more than stand there and he looked an idiot! But
whenever I've seen him with a guitar on, he does suit it...that should be his
look from now, he'll be crippled soon the way he stands smile)

Yep, gotta agree... However, the image i see for him, is like in
the 'Songbird' video, the guitar and ducks, more ducks! Just different
clothes, Liam... And the hair, oh god, the hair!

            You forgot to...

...a może po polsku...? Nie, lepiej tak...

You forgot to mention _the_ song, that, after all those years I kept hearing they "ended", they're Beatles rip-off, or that they're simply not worthy of listening, made me finally believe in that band.
"Little by little". It's perfect. It's a work of genius. I suppose, when you're old and popular, you can't exactly sing about pure innocent love et consortes and sound natural anymore. But that's exactly the time when you can sing lyrics like that.

Niespecjalnie jestem przekonany do tego akurat utworu. Oczywiście jest dobry,
ale po prostu za bardzo przypomina mi wcześniejszą piosenkę Oasis, "Carry Us
All", stronę B z singla "Sunday Morning Call"...

If mean Be Here Now album , I agree becouse that record was a SELL OUT !
Songs like Stand By Me and All Around The World (and video) was so copy of The
          Beattles.
Defenitely Meybe was great if not the best album of the 90`s. Morning Glory
was amazing becouse made Oasis one of the best bands in the world !
          Be Here Now sucks wink
Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants was return to the roots of Oasis , great
          album.

Be Here Now jest ostatnią płytą Oasis, która w pełni mnie przekonuje. Same

bardziej spójna, no i chyba świeższa niż ostatnia płyta...

Zespół Bank? Nie wydaje mi się... Natomiast jeśli jakimś dziwnym trafem mówisz
