S&P500 - ciekawostka

30.10.08, 04:46
W historii Wall Street było 37 dni w ostanich 80-ciu latach, kiedy
indeks S&P500 wzrósł powyżej 6% podczas sesji. Z tych 37 dni 32
przypadają na okres 1929 - 1933 (czyli okres Wielkiego Kryzysu) z
czego 12 dni to pojedyńcze wybuchy euforii przed rokiem 1932, w
którym akcje sięgnęły wreszcie bruku tej sławnej ulicy gdzie 'greed
is good'. Dwa dni przypadają na późne lata 30-te, jeden dzień zaraz
po tąpnięciu w 1987, jeden (rekordowy (11.58%)) na 13 października
2008 i w ostatni wtorek (+10.79).

osobiscie mam jeden powazny problem z porownywaniem obecnych czasow
do lat 30-tych, mianowicie mnogosc derywatow: biorac pod uwage
mozliwosci crossowania pozycji, sterowania pochodnymi bazowych

I know we are all mostly long term bears here...but I think the time has come to
be real careful with short plays....

look at how closely the '29 fractal compares with the RUT today, even though the
RUT crashed from a much weaker position on the daily chart.

Also, look how similar the weekly RUT looks to the daily '29....I have said
before that I think we may be playing ou the 29-32 fractal on a weekly, rather
than daily, time scale.... I do have a hard time believing we will have a run
all the way back up to the weekly 200 on Rutty over the next few years, but the
charts still say that possibility exists....

Also note that 2 of the biggest percentage up days in history in the Dow came a
couple of weeks apart to mark the '29 crash low.....we just had 2 more of the
biggest up days in history in the Dow a few weeks apart..........

In any event, we are in an area where a sharp multi-week rally may have begun....

innymi słowy tylko dwa razy w jednym roku kalendarzowym S&P stracił ponad 30% i
        były to lata wielkiej depresji
        • stoje_i_patrze Re: S&P500 - ciekawostka 22.11.08, 13:10
The S.& P. 500 has lost more than a third of its value in a calendar year only
twice before, both during the Great Depression. It fell 41.9 percent in 1931,
and 38.6 percent in 1937. The worst post-Depression year, until now, was 1974,
when the index fell 29.7 percent amid the worst postwar recession the country
          has yet seen.

But this year, the index is down 45.5 percent. Amazingly enough, it has done
better than leading indexes in many other countries, at least when currency
          changes are filtered out.

Measured in dollars, the leading indexes in Britain, France, Germany, Canada,
China, India, Australia, Brazil and Mexico have all lost more than half their
value. Japan’s leading index is down almost 50 percent in yen, but just 40
percent in dollars because of the rise of the yen this year.

No i kolejny dzień - 24.11.2008 czyli razem już 40. Coś mi
sięwydaje, że statystyki są podobne to tych z GD.
